I know some of you wanted to see my door project when completed, still not completed but this is what it is so far. The door panel should be in tomorrow or Wednesday, the inside work was done 3 +weeks ago. Today I raised the outside header trim, the plywood is already cut out, once the door panel is in I'll just cut the old header beam behind the plywood and install the new side trim and finish the siding . The side trim showing in the last picture was just to align the top, the new trim won't be pieced. Notice the Kubota just sitting there waiting for her new spot to be completed. I do not expect the finished door to look that great, the panel will be added above the windows and may look funny, But I want to keep the tractor in the heated garage. It just makes it easier to add the things I want to the tractor and for plowing in the winter. Nothing is better than driving the tractor out of a heated garage with a door opener in a heavy snow storm.

Looks good. If you want it to look like it was always that way and not out of place, just raise the second door while you're at it. A little more work and $ for another door section but well worth it. Then you can get in there and use the tractor to lift stuff in that bay as well.

Your garage door project is coming along nicely! Once you're finished it's going to look like it's been there from the start.

Has your new panel come in yet? I'm sure the wait has been tough.

Keep the picture coming and thanks for posting!

WaxMan I just recently bought a new L3240. I like your choice in tractors. I have been more than pleased with mine. First thing I did was pull the wax out and I waxed it/cleaned it up before I proceeded to get it dirty. A good coat of wax makes it easier to clean up later.
I Like ur pictures. I have some small planned mods for the future.
I had to build a new awning off the side of my garage for my Kubota. So I understand expanding the garage door. Every tractor needs a good dry home.

Thanks, Waxing is a good idea, I'll tell you sitting out in the sun all day really takes a toll on a tractor. Glad mine is undercover now like yours.

Ok the door panel is up, still have to paint. I forgot, one gutter down spout still needs paint.
I painted one side to see how it would blend in and never did the front down spout.
In the first picture you can see her sleeping safe and sound in her new home.

Looks like from the pictures it's time to do some weeding also.
See now I would get the new tractor out, drive right up to that weed, get out, place the weed in the bucket and go dump it somewhere:) but I think I'll wait for the gauges and backup camera first. That way I can watch all the digital numbers and red needles moving and make weeding much more enjoyable. I only ordered the Volt gauge right now to see if it has a quality look to it, lit and not lit. if it does I'll order the rest. If not i'll keep looking. I wish I could find the analog / digital combo gauge in amber to match.

And yes I need to know the oil and transmission temperature , if you ever saw how many weeds I have:)
I might do things a little different then 4shorts we'll see, At least I have the masters picture to fall back on.
Thanks 4shorts for all your ideas

You could take the gauges apart and make them amber.

Great job with the door opening! Once you get some paint on it, it's going to look like it's always been that way.

I'm sure you're really glad to be able to park your tractor inside now.

Looking good sir. Nice job on the door. Great to see it sleeping inside. Your going to have some fun now and never mind blaming me. You would have modded it out if you never ever heard of me
Man I've been looking at that new 6060. I'd love to get my paws on that thing :licking:

The door looks great! Do you know where you are going to tap into for the oil and trans temp?

When I did the 4240 and let that go for the 5740 the 4240 had 200 hours on it. The 5740 got 135  that 6060 is singing to me.

Not yet, haven looked around under there, but you can drill and tap into the drain plug if the sender is small enough

These tractors probably run 10,000 hrs or more you have how many? one hundred thirty five thats a little more then 3- 40hr work weeks. You spent more time on the mods then use.
I guess this falls into the want category we talked about.
I tried to find it, but someone here on TBN gave me some good advice and I didn't take it. He said I had spring fever and to forget about it , It will pass.

If I bought a 6060 I'd have to hide it because the wife would kill me and I'm not kidding
At 135 hours on a machine I'm not in the market for a new one plus I may not be doing snow clearing commercially anymore so this 5740 will be a keeper. As for the 6060. Its nice. Emissions system is a deterrent and I'm not found of the can cover. I think the cab cover on the grands look much nicer but that's just my opinion which don't account for much but that 6060 got some cool features the 40 series don't have.

:O why is that

Been doing it for almost 25 years now. Tied down during the winter months because of it. Contract is up so I'm not submitting a bid. Would like to have the freedom to visit our sons who live out of province especially during the holiday season.
