Here is an update:
Town meeting: I thought they were going to discuss the incident and related dog regulations etc. Turns out they awarded me a nice plaque and the commander from the American Legion honored me with a metal. Found out that the town can only use the state regulations and cannot make there own rules.
The Neighbor: He is still in the hospital. The are still treating his wounds, the stitches should be removed tomorrow then they will decide if he is well enough to go home with follow up home care. He is one tough old guy for sure. He will still need skin grafts and other plastic surgery to close up the wounds.
The owners: Haven't heard anything from the owners, perhaps I am just out of the loop, however, I don't think so. They have not contacted me at all. And as far as I know they have not contacted the neighbor either.
Charges: Don't have an update on charges. Last info was that the investigator was looking into their prior residence to see if there was any incidents with the dogs, if so that would raise the bar substantially and more severe charges will be filed. If this is the first incident then he can only charge them with existing dog regulations, as many as will apply.
Me: Took a few days for the body to loose the effects of adrenalin and get a good nites sleep. Still on my mind, guess it will take time to get over the incident. Met a lot of the neighbors who dropped by to say thanks. No one has second guessed or challenged my actions. The incident made the local news and print media, interestingly enough that's as far as it has gone. Getting back to what I was up to when this all happened. Got to weld up some mods to my tractor ala 4Shorts style. Got new batteries for my wheelchair so that's next up on the fix list.
I will update again when there is something new.
