Piranha tooth bar!!!

Ok help me out I got the piranha today and put it on. I tried to dig with it and got nowhere hat am I doing wrong? 4wd low gear throttle up teeth down on a slight angle. Brown clay? I'm also frustrated that no one at bx panded gave me the option of locating the cutouts for the forks where I would need them for my brush forks. Wish I would have heard about it sooner.

Get off the tractor and verify your angle of attack. It changes slightly with the toothbar on and you have to uncurl a little more. Put some downpressure on it too. Lift your front wheels slightly when you start to dig.

Yes they were spinning a little I didn't have any weight on the back would that help?

Maybe you can hose it down awhile, let it soak in overnight, then try it. I also found that using something like a box blade or a middle buster to loosen things up helps. And, Yes, some rear ballast helps a lot.

Does sound like a traction issue. I have a BH on and in 4WD I can dig aggressively. Once you get a bite I find I do have to uncurl a bit as I go. I get a good scoop this way. Don't know your soil though.

We have (on a B2320, so a little different) beet juice weighing down the rear tires, and either (usually our BB) a #400+ box blade or our ballast box at #600+ and that really helps the traction, which gives the blade its push.

Also try starting with a bit of down tilt, catch the edge, and then up tilt, because sometimes you have to start it a little before it really digs in, especially if there are rocks at or just below the surface. Sometimes it helps to either move forward or back a couple of inches in case of possible rocks.

Wetting the ground as previously described can also help if its parched and bone dry.
