Dodge has never gone for big 1/2 ton towing. That's what the 3/4 and 1 ton Cummins powered trucks are for.

I agree but at least have enough payload to fill six seats or don't make a crew cab. Most of them coming off the line have 900-1000 lbs payload.

Ford has the 5.0 towing rating cut back to push the ecoboost.

Please explain. It isn't because of the noticeable torque difference?

If I was Canadian a diesel 1/2 ton would be attractive. In the US it is not worth it IMO.

I know it about the payload. It is terrible as far as that goes.

It is still a HALF TON, you want to tow more, buy an HD!!

The braking power is close to maximum at that weight.
