Congratulations on the new member of the family!! Once you get used to it it will be your go to tractor!

You are right. I am already thinking of selling theTC25and going down to one tractor which is all I really need for what I do. Only reason I had two was one had a loader and the other was great for mowing.

I want to pick up a canopy that mounts on the ROPS and then I'll be set for mowing. Only worry is how rough the R4s will be on the grass. It's not a great lawn but I don't want to rut it up when I turn.

I don't think that you'll notice any difference with the R-4's. I used to mow with a JD850 (22 pto HP gear drive) with R-1's and it didn't tear up the yard unless I was really trying to (basically trying to do a doughnut). I keep a pretty nice yard too.

I've mowed once so far with my 4310. I like it. The power steering is nice and the seat suspension is WAY better than the one on the 850. I'll be curious to find out how much more fuel i'll l be using with the hydrostatic though. I could mow five acres using less than two gallons with the 850. I don't think that I got as good a cut with it though compared to the 4310. With the 850 every time I slowed down the blades slowed too.

I mowed with R-4s (on my 790) for 6 years. No problems...and I do suggest you do two things:
1) Mow in 2WD if at all possible
2) Dismount the loader

I had more problems with the RFM wheels digging in then any tractor tires. Try to plan your mowing so you reverse as little as possible...that's when the RFM tires will gouge the lawn (as they pivot).
I also mowed with my 4400. These tractors weigh close to 3000 lbs with no loader. I never had any problems, but mowing over your septic tank and leech field may be something to consider. R-4s are pretty wide, so I wouldn't expect any problems though.
Also, your 4410 can easily handle an 84" RFM. Unless your lawn is flat (meaning not uneven), bigger is not always better. I use a 72" RFM now and I do get a better cut.

Thanks Roy. The lot is flat so 2WD will do nicely, as it has with my TC25 and the 2600.
with the loader being so easy to dismount there's no reason not to drop it when mowing
that I can see. I have little mowing in reverse or backing up to do, its a rectangular piece
of ground about an acre in size that I mow, so easy to mow (no obstructions or trees), and
fast (small size). I have a Frontier 72" RFM which I picked up two years ago and is in excellent
condition. The TC25, being shorter than the 2600 and the 4410 and lighter, handles the RFM
just fine and makes a nice mowing setup. I'll try the 4410 this Spring anda see how it goes.
If no rpoblems maybe I'll sell the TC25 and go down to one tractor.

I have a 4400 with 1300 hrs. and no problems. 72" belly mower. Have used both r-4 and turf tires. No problems with either one mowing. Turf tires are a lot more comfortable to ride on and set the tractor up approx. 3" taller. R-4 much better on loader work. Have fun with your new toy.
