Cummins is built here in Indiana. Not over seas, like that's a bad thing. My tractor and two of the three vehicles I own are imports.

Not sure. I have 2 friends that work there. On manages the cafeteria and the other is the #2 man there. I have never been offered.

I think he meant that he the engine in this Ram is not a Cummins but a Fiat import, so he won't buy one.

The point being that their payload is lower than typical. Every truck has a weak point and payload is it for the Ram. Ram excels and leads the class in many other things though as you mentioned. No truck is perfect. If it only had better payload to match such strong powertains.....one would be in my garage.

While I understand your point, I don't really expect Chrysler to cannibalize their 3/4ton+ sales by doing what you (and I) would like to see here. Just another case of gear-head wishes being trumped by business reality.

I like the Firestone products I've seen. For my personal recreational use, I'd probably look at using these, on this 1500.

For commercial use on this 1500, in a truck fleet - No. Just buy a 3/4ton or larger.
