Making a carry all for my tractor that has a trailer hitch mounted on it.

Thought it may be a good idea to add both brake lights onto the carry all and
a brake light into the hitch receiver.

Wondering how to wire this?

I don't really don't know why you would need them when your only going 10 mph , A rear view mirror would be of more use.

For brake lights one way would be to run new lights that were dedicated to the task. A switch will need to be mounted under the brake pedal to activate them but if you use the HST or engine to slow down its all for naught, easier way would be manually controlled with a momentary toggle or a pushbutton.

Do you want brake lights or tail lights? The tail lights would be on any time you had the tractor lights on and would be more beneficial. You could also ad hazard lights.

When I'm on the road with my tractor I use yellow flashing lights. There's a strobe on the front and a pair of lollipop lights relocated from the fenders running on an alternating flasher (like a school bus). I lined the forward lenses of the lollipops with foil so they don't shine into the cab.

Since the fastest my tractor will go is around 15MPH, it is for all purposes a stationary object to road traffic travelling at normal speed while I'm running at top speed. I live in a county with a large Amish presence and they get whacked with some regularity because motorists don't realize how fast they are closing on the buggies. Then there's the fact that I rarely use brakes with the HST anyway.

ETA: Using taillights only would concern me because with little or no daylight a car driver may mistake the red taillights for another car ahead of them.

I would tie into your tractor's running lights and turn signals. That will give you 4 ways, turn signals and when you are turning, the opposite turn signal lights up (ie: then the right turn signal is on, the lift light is steady, no flashing).
We have that setup on our BX2660 and L3830, need to do it with the B7500.

State laws vary I think from state to state, but it may be that sticking other than stock lighting and SMV triangle on your set up is contrary to local regs. Might be a confusion issue.

The problem is most (all?) CUTs lack brake lights. They closest they have it that when you put on the turn signal the other turn signal goes solid on.

Kioti has both brake and turn signal lights, can't speak to Kubotas?
The site I linked to can supply whatever is needed.....
