Took today off to get a big chunk done. Here's four hours worth of work.

Passenger's side done

Started tracing fancy curved brackets for body mounts... then just did this

They actually had to be hammered in (pass side needed an 1/8" shim), so we'll see if they stay in place once the body starts moving on the trail

Metal work on the back is done! Turned around to get to the front

I HATE RUST!!!

Hit it with the flapper wheel to see what I was dealing with then cut out the worst spots

Then probably an hour later I had them all filled

Thanks guys.

Meh, it's good practice for me, and a nice rig for whoever buys it... and with any luck I'll play with it a little to make sure it's all good before spring. The bridge is going in on the trail as soon as the frost is out of the ground... the goal will be to see if the Tracker can make it around by itself. Should be fun! :)

Nice work!

Thank you!

Forgot to mention; in my excitement for progress I forgot to prime and paint the back and top of that 2x2. :(

I'll do what I can reach and spray some rust check to seep into the rest.

I venture to guess that 2x2 will last longer then the rest of the vehicle but I get where you're coming from.

Nice work on a neat project! I think you should go ahead a fab up a 3pt hitch on the rear so you can pull a blade or a disc!!!!! Now that would be the cat's meow LOL. Keep the pic's coming.

Thank you kebo!

If the Jeep sells I may very well be towing my grader (to be finished after the Tracker) with the Tracker... although it doesn't require a 3pt hitch... but you never know! The wheels never stop turning in this twisted mind of mine. LOL

Finally got this one off my phone... I was stuck trying to turn around in the trail

Body work continues... first crack at bondo

Far from perfect, but good enough! Bring on the paint

Well thank you for asking! I've finished painting it, though I think I'll do some of the interior paint... basicly the A and B pillars because they're so visible with it being so open. Also if you look at the last pic on here I'm mocking up a TJ roll cage that I've got to cut and splice in a couple spots...

... but I've picked up my next project this weekend, so I'm itching to get the Tracker done so I can start on it! :)

Unfortunately I didn't get in the garage at all this weekend, but I'll be putting a push on to have it done asap. I'll post some nice outside shots once she's done.

I never even saw that roll cage the first time I looked. But it looks good now that I looked again. Do you have anymore photos of the roll cage?

What is this new project? Will you create a thread about it?

Don't worry, I'll take lots of pics. I was just mocking it up to see how bad I'd have to hack it to fit.

Yes I will start a new thread for the new project... but you'll have to wait and see!

Oh wait... I do have a pic...

Well, pulled her out to clean up the garage & make room for the next projects

I'm re-considering the roll cage... it may of may not get done... so as far as this thread's concerned, she's done! Hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for posting/ reading! :)
