2500 kms south west of Australia. Its an an almost unbelievable distance from the original flight path. Its like a plane going missing in Canada and being found in the Caribbean Sea. I wouldn't count the chickens yet. Could just be wreckage of an old yacht.

Farmgirl (Maryann from a few threads back) can spell out SOS and keep Gilligan from kicking the logs this time

Are you going for the role of Gilligan? :D

Just exactly what is that supposed to mean?
:smiley_aafz:
Got something against primates?

J

Nothing against them, but if everything is going to be automatic and computerized, they would have more than enough training to deal with the aircraft.

Boeing 777 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fly-by-wire

In designing the 777 as its first fly-by-wire commercial aircraft, Boeing decided to retain conventional control yokes rather than change to sidestick controllers as used in many fly-by-wire fighter aircraft and in many Airbus airliners. Along with traditional yoke and rudder controls, the cockpit features a simplified layout that retains similarities to previous Boeing models. The fly-by-wire system also incorporates flight envelope protection, a system that guides pilot inputs within a computer-calculated framework of operating parameters, acting to prevent stalls and overly stressful maneuvers. This system can be overridden by the pilot in command if deemed necessary. The fly-by-wire system is supplemented by mechanical backup.
There is no mechanical connection between the pilot and the control surfaces. No cables. No pulleys. No rods. Nada. Nothing but sensors, wire and computers to convey the movements of the pilots controls, convert them into data, transmit them to the other parts of the plane, then convert them back into mechanical force at the control surfaces through hydraulic and electric systems.

No ELT on the aviation emergency frequencies and no sonar ping from a black box in the water. Something doesn't add up off the coast of Australia .
The locations located at the north and south points were MH370 would have run out of fuel are of interest.
There is still a nasty possibility that the 777ER is being modified with extra fuel tanks and is being loaded with some sort of "warhead" in Pakistan.
MH370 could have snuck around, over and under northern radar coverage. And hid in plain sight when required with a fake call sign and fake transponder code.

As for "no airframe debris" at the Pentagon. Have a search for the video of a 30,000+ lb F4 Phantom hitting a concrete wall at 500mph.
The airframe broke up like an eggshell and left just little bits of crumbled metal around the site. In an impact with an airframe containing fuel. Most of the aluminum would disappear in the flames.
Anything left of the aircraft at Pentagon would be engines and landing gear. Anything else would be lost in thousands of tons of building rubble.
