Man, I'd be dying!

In one of your videos you mention the DPF regen not being indicated on the dash...do you know any of the details of the regen cycle?

In my video, I got the regen cycle wrong. Sort of. How it was explained to me post video is the regen cycle happens automatically with no loss of power or activity but the engine must remain running. The operator can pass over the regen cycle up to three times, say they are at the end of the day and want to shut down. If the regen cycle is passed over three times, after the third time, the tractor will regenerate with a loss of performance. The operator can also manually start a regen process.

In other words, after each passover, the filter gets dirtier and dirtier, dropping performance a little bit when it does regenerate, but if left to automatically regenerate on its own, then the operator will not notice a drop in performance other than the engine requiring to stay running. mIn comparison to other strategies for cleaning the particulate filter, Kioti seems to have the best procedure of the machines I looked at.

Thanks....that seems very reasonable. I can't imagine having to pass over the regen more than once or twice, so it doesn't sound like it will be much of factor in normal use.

Glad to hear its working out well for you! A couple of questions, if you don't mind:

Did the factory CD player also have AM/FM? It sounds like it doesn't have an input for an iPod, or similar MP3 player, or am I mistaken? How does the regen work on the DPF? There are a couple of ways that can happen, but I haven't seen anything on how the NX handles it. Thanks!

Yes, the factory unit is an AM/FM stereo radio with built-in CD player. Since it is an option on the NX series, I didn't actually look at one, so I don't know for sure if it has a USB port for a flash drive, or an aux input for a cell phone or dedicated MP3 player. I got the impression talking to the dealer that it doesn't, but don't count on that. Doubt that Kioti is changing the radio unit for the NX from what's been used as standard on the DK series, so if the DK radio has one or both of those features, my guess is the NX will as well.

Looks like EricTheOracle has answered the question on regen of the DPF. What he's described sounds right to me.

The factory radio has a 1/8 inch input and a usb connection.

Radio wise, all it needs to do is sinc with iPhone over bluetooth and play two local radio stations 89.9 and 90.5FM, both crazy local indian variety stations in my neck of the woods. I thought I'd get a simple radio like this JVC.

I purchased a 2014 Kioti NX4510 back in November of 2014. It has the tier 4 engine. I am very disappointed with my purchase. After spending nearly $30,000 on this tractor, it will not run when the temperature is around 10 degrees or colder. My main reason for purchasing this tractor was for plowing snow. This morning after we had nearly blizzard conditions in Michigan, it started fine and ran for about 30 minutes. After that, my CEL light came on and it shut down. Some days it runs fine, while others it does not. After I got half of my driveway done, the tractor will run for approximately 1 minute and then shut down again. My dealer (Van Paemel Equipment) tells me that the fuel filter screen mesh is so fine on this model that it will not pass cold diesel fuel through the screen and it's starving for fuel. I even treated all of my fuel with the anti-gelling diesel 911 white bottle to help with the issue. The fix is to buy a fuel line heater and new fuel filter. Why does this tractor not come from the dealership with this feature? I have now had problems twice and missed time from work dealing with this issue. The tractor only has 9 hours on it. At this time, I am regretting purchasing a Kioti and will not recommend this model to anyone else. I have been forced to purchase a fuel line heater and new fuel filter to try and rectify the problem which cost about $175 out of my pocket.

Bob is a real good guy ... I'm sure he'll do his best to take care of you. However, I would kindly tell him that you shouldn't have to pay for the fuel line heater, and that you would expect Kioti to step up and cover it, especially since you bought it in a cold climate. Ask him to get the rep involved if necessary.

The fuel heater is required in the below freezing temps on the tier 4 units. It is something that we learnt the hard way last winter. Unfortunately they are not free. You can't blame the tractor for not having the proper accessories. Your dealer may not have experienced this issue yet when you purchased your tractor and did not properly equip it with the required accessory. We now install them on all new tractors and add it to the selling price. Get the fuel heater and your tractor will be just fine.

You are right. I am not blaming the tractor. I am blaming Kioti for not equipping tractors properly that are sold in cold weather climates. Imagine if a car company did the same thing. Can you say recall? It's pretty simple in my mind. It should be taken care of for me as it doesn't work properly. Makes it easy for me. My next purchase will definitely not be a Kioti especially after chatting with their customer service.

Believe it or not, it isn't the fault of your Kioti tractor. Diesel #2, which has been happily splashing around in your tractor's fuel tank since the day you purchased the tractor, gells at around 22-31 degrees F depending on its blending. Diesel fuel gelling or waxing is a problem with ANY diesel engine that works in the cold. Kioti offers an inline fuel filter heater for anybody planning on working below freezing, and more preparation must be taken if a diesel engine is going to work in conditions below zero F.

To help you understand the issue, read the following three page PDF "Solving Winter Diesel Fuel / Fuel Filter Problems." I promise that you'll feel better about your purchase after you do.

http://www.aftermarketsuppliers.org/Councils/Filter-Manufacturers-Council/TSBs-2/English/91-1R3.pdf

As to why your tractor didn't come with it? Well there are many reasons: You could have been looking for the very best price, the dealer may have not offered it if you gave him the impression you knew about gelling issues, or the dealer may have simply dropped the ball. Any diesels, including your cars, require a strategy to run well in cold temperatures. Ask yourself when was the last time somebody at a car dealer talked to you about gelling fuel? For me, never.

At any-rate, I'm empathetic to your problem, and you should know that your problem is universal to all diesels and not a Kioti NX problem, or Kioti factory problem.

After you've read the PDF I've supplied feel free to ask the forum questions. :)
