I just use multi purpose grease. Whatever I can get on sale or a good deal on by the case. Sometimes its red, brown, or even white lithium.

Thanks for the reply!! Grease is cheap! Its a lot less costly than seized and worn parts. Ball joints and other parts can get dangerous if not properly maintained

Just ordered a Milwaukee grease gun from Northern Tool. And I have a "Lock N Lube" fitting to attach to it when it arrives...I'm in grease gun heaven!

Im finding I need to buy a right- angle greasing bit and a needle greaser, Very handy for problem grease fittings and missing ones.

I find it may be needed to get a grease fitting rejuvenator as well. Have any of you used one before or own one?

After the fiasco of trying to grease the backhoe last night I used the search feature and found this thread. I have to say the Milwasukee M12 12v gun is interesting. We have one lever gun that works OK but the pull handle came off. We have one lever type that when you run out of grease and pull the handle to install a new tube about 70% of the tube comes out of the back end (yes 70% of the tube) and it is about 20% on the pistol grip.

The physical pain to use a hand gun is high in my case plus the mess ours makes means we need to do something.

$200 is a lot of money for a grease gun but not greasing as often as needed is not cheap either.

Thanks for the many posts and photos.

Think about Lincolns too. I have a manual pistol type, 14V battery and pneumatic. They all work great and without a hitch.

The top of the line manual guns run $50-$100 so it the gun in a $200 battery gun is of top of the line quality they are not all that much more expensive. I think I would grease more than I do now if I had the electric one due to less trauma to the arthritis.

Those with battery grease guns do they measure out the grease in 'shots' so to speak or just blow grease until you take your finger off the trigger?

I do want the Lithium Ion battery so it can set off of the charger for months and still work.

I've got a Lincoln battery operated (has a spare battery too) and it's fantastic. I used a pneumatic crapsman top-of-the-line that I absolutely hated. It would without fail, use only half the grease in the tube no matter which way the plunger was positioned. I subsequently got pissed-off enough to research grease guns and ended up w/ the Lincoln. It really is an absolute dream and wastes no grease (always completely empties tube) and the battery charge lasts a very long time. In fact, I've had it for over a year and I've only used the spare battery once (still using it) and recharged the original. If you purchase a Lincoln, search fleabay. I looked at TSC and other places and their prices for the Lincoln's are outrageous and that was for the guns w/out a spare battery.
