I've only installed 1 electric fence and it was Horse Guard using their charger. I presume it's the same setup as others. Their charger has 1 positive and 1 negative connection. You do need to use their hardware and connectors.

Cool. We will check that out because portability is important to me so loosing the need for grounding rods would be huge. Thanks

+ from the charger goes to the tape. - from the charger goes to the ground rod(s).

With this Bi-Polar wire there is no ground rods required like with the standard Mono-Polar wire per this and RobA.

My bad. I have not seen one of these chargers and should have looked first.

I do not think it is charger brand specific. The path is on the horse and does not flow through the ground like they have worked all of my life.

A charger is just a charger. The Zareba should work. I just checked out the Horseguard Fence. Pretty interesting fence. Looks like you are on the right track. Would be interested on how well you like the Horseguard Fence.
