Whats a good used Ford 4630 worth???

finding a 4630 at that price is the hard part.

I missed a chance on one a few years back and kick myself.. OFTEN.

turbo vs non turbo both have their good points. turbo engines are more efficient for breathing, etc.

I see you are looking for one too. That is just like the Bushhog 286 model that I missed by 10 minutes a couple years ago. Good luck in your search.

I was just wondering if the bottom end on the 3.1 liter turbo model was more beefy. Obviously you run the risk of dusting a turbo model if the filtration isn't maintained which means one more thing that can break or wear out.

Local dealer had one for 4000$ afew us ago, needed a seat, air breather cap, hose on remote, belts.. But otherwise was solid, I hesitated like a fool and it was gone shortly thereafter. When I saw a 4600 for sale for 3900, needing electrical wireing, welding on fender brackets, muffler, seat, hyd cover orings and a stop cable, plus a Ps line leaking, I jumped on it, those were all easy fixes.. I love that 4600!

I wouldn't base my purchase of a 4630 or 3930 on whether it was a turbo or NA. If the rest of it made sense to buy, I would have either.

That's what I thought. Thanks for reaffirming my gut feeling. I would think one with the high flow hydraulics (aux pump) would be more favorable than finding one with or without the turbo.

I have a no frills 2600 that keeps on getting. No power steering, no diff lock and a dual range 3 speed. It pulls my 5ft medium duty bushhog just fine through whatever I throw at it. I have skidded tons of big red oak with it on my property before I built my carry all. I just want to eventually get something that I can put a loader on. The mfwd would be helpful too as my property is somewhat hilly and has some wet areas. I have no problems wrenching on a diamond in the rough as long as the main components (power train) are sound.

Thanks for all the replies y'all. I still don't have my hands on this tractor but I made the deal. I can't pick it up till October 5th. I wound up buying all the implements he had too. Hoping I can at least get my money out of the tractor and keep the implements for myself.
