67°F and 2.54 inches rain last 24 hours, more accurately last 10 hours. We sure needed it.

Off to Kona side for luncheon with fellow retired military guys and spouses, then a visit to Costco will make it a full day.

Be safe
Have a great day

good morning everyone. Looks like you all up North aren't going to get to relax this weekend, more snow coming in. My helper shows up late this morning when it gets above freezing, going up to 50 here today, and then we are going to pick up sticks and clear out brush I have cut back in the woods. I've gained five pounds this winter sitting around cooking and eating and not getting enough exercise. Will be good to get outside and do some work. And maybe when I make brownies for others I put all of them on the plate instead of quality controlling way too many.... am working on plans for a trip up to PA again in three weeks. I turn 65 March 13 and my sister wants to take me out to dinner, which will be nice. Honestly, I'm going up there to retrieve my new to me dining room table and bringing that home in a Uhaul. It would fit in my eight foot bed, but it's really nice wood and with my luck it would be driving sleet that day. No, in the Uhaul it goes. The table is more modern than I would like, but I am a sucker for nice wood. Now to find chairs that will somewhat match. One of my childhood friends is an early American antiques dealer (not my thing at all...) but he had this table in his basement, just waiting for someone. I likely paid about half what this table is worth; I have helped my friend in the past and he is trying to return the favor. So this is the result of my looking around for tables. I spent what I could have gotten an entire NC made set on the table, but the mass produced stuff looks like just what it is, where this table is someone's piece of art. And now mine. I was the only kid in the academic curriculum in my little high school that took shop straight through senior year. I am hooked on sawdust, like RS is on sparks and welding smoke...

Nice looking table Drew. I suspect finding just the right chairs will be an adventure.

A thin blanket of wet snow over the ground this morning.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon harrowing a hay field to level the mole hills and pull out the dead grass. The rules of the agricultural scheme I am in don't allow this after February so I better press on with the others too.
This was the first time I have used an HST tractor for an extended period of field work. Took a little while for me to remember I could just put it in "cruise" on the long runs and then use the foot pedal to cancel at each end. Once I got the hang of things it was real easy.

Eric--What kind of harrow is that and what kind of tines are on it? I could use something like that but have not been able to find a tine stout enough to take the abuse. Is it home made?

About 10 outside right now.

It is a snow sky, and the weather people say 1-6 inches for our area.

I am heading out to get some diesel and beer. No TP, bread or milk for me!

Got back, wow, roads are the pits, at least three inches of snow already, got the beer and diesel. Truck did not make it back up the driveway. Little pickup is parked in the front 40, should have taken the 150. Filled up the tractor and made some tracks to follow so I know where the driveway is later.

Stay warm everyone.

Good morning all. 26F this morning and tail end of snow, about 1/2 snow/sleet fell last night. Now 45F and a whole lot of melting going on out there. Forecast was for 40F so no idea how warm it really will get, but it is NICE! Tomorrow high is only forecast for 23F back to the cold (normal is about 45F for this time of year). need to push some ice off the driveway.

Is it the roads or those driving that can't deal with snow?
We've only got about an inch so far in Kingstowne.

In this area, both.

In my case, a 2WD Ford Ranger with nothing in the bed, on one to three inches of snow on road temps in the teens.
