Good morning all. -3F this morning WC -14F sunny and COLD. Sunny worming to a balmy 19F. Tomorrow 35F and evening snow showers with winter mix and 39F on Sunday. End of next week is forecast to be near normal temps and decent riding weather . Sinuses are draining bah humbug.

Dave did the Birds ever find your bird feeders???

2F & calm. Low 20's today with some clouds.

I think most cherry wood used for cabinetry and furniture comes from 'wild black cherry' which has red/cherry-colored wood except for a narrow white ring of new wood around the outside of the log.

Yep, the sun is getting high enough in the sky to have some heating power.

Dave did the Birds ever find your bird feeders???

Nope. One of windy storms a while back blew all the sunflower seeds out of the metal tray at the bottom of the feeder, which let more slide down and they blew away too. The wind emptied the feeder. Seeds all over on top of the snow. I brought the feeder in.

I need to put it out again with some seeds in it. We have a couple days above freezing in the next ten, so I think the birds will be on the move soon.

The way it looks to me,the colder the weather that is when they hit the feeders the hardest.I have to fill my feeders about every three days.We have a flock of Finches that are there from dawn to dusk.

It's a bit of a mystery. There just aren't any birds to speak of hanging around. The waxwings, ravens, crows are about all I've seen. I just walked down to the mailbox--woods along both sides of the driveway--and saw not one bird. Nice, sunny day, low 20's and mild breeze.

We don't have a cat, I don't shoot much at all and never in that area. I don't think they are being chased away. They just aren't there.
