More than half the people I've polled here at work agree that it's odd and a few who live nearby have stated it's an area with high frequency of accidents. Go figure. The other oddity is that from "her" direction there is no indication whatsoever that the left turn has the right of way to that person who is approaching and turning right.

Nope, not at all.

She is already on the road because she has completed her turn. You have a yield sign to clarify that you are joining the traffic stream of "her" road as you are still turning.

No ramps or interstates in this case. The horizontal traffic is a two lane road and the vertical is simply a two lane road to a shopping mall.

Ok, that makes sense. yes, I'll need to admit I don't much care for anyone cursing me and especially when they are in the wrong. In the beginning I did back down and allowed her argument there was a yield sign. Frankly it bothered me that I had missed the sign but thankfully it wasn't even there to begin with.

Hopefully she goes back and realizes there is no sign so that the next time she pulls in front of someone they don't cream her like could have easily happened in this situation. I still find it amazing that she just assumed a vehicle twice the size of hers was going to stop (yield). I don't care if the transfer truck doesn't have a right of way, if he is heading in my direction I am getting out of the way.

Really? I've tried to find clarification of this on the NC DMV site. Have not been able to prove either way yet. Maybe someone here is able to do that. It's just a simple intersection, nothing more nothing less. If a sincle car length is long enough to constitute being in a "lane" then there are bunch of people out here not yielding to left hand turning drivers.

This probably doesn't even warrant further discussion since it seems to be going nowhere but back and forth. Sorry to have wasted y'alls time.

Look at this one. Assume North is up. Do you think that traffic that's coming southbound and turning right to go west on the other road, should yield to traffic that's turned left onto the same road from the northbound direction of the main road?
