These would work. No worries with using hose.

I too use (and like) the air-powered grease gun. I park the tractor outside my workshop (compressor location) for greasing. Lock-n-lube for sure. I work the pistol-grip gun with one hand and the lock-n-lube coupler with the other. I throw a big sheet of cardboard under the tractor (EZ slide in-out) for greasing below )brakes, front axle trunions, and inboard steering fittings). Finally I try to coordinate power washing and greasing: power wash first. The power washer helps clean the fittings and blow out old grease overflow then the new grease displaces any water that got into the loader pivots.

For those of you doing lots of greasing and lots of money, try this one. Only $295 at Amazon and comes with a LocknLube coupler. It is a bulk grease dispenser (holds equivalent to 20 tubes of grease) with foot pump action.

That is pretty cool. I added that gun to my wish list at Amazon.

Exactly as RickB said. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever used a grease gun with a solid pipe.
All of the lever guns That I have had have came with a solid pipe.

All of the pistol grips have had a hose,

The reason that I bought the LockNLube coupler is the standard couplers leaked grease, no matter how tight it was adjusted, on hard to grease fittings.

The LockNLube coupler doesn't leak.

I use an older air powered grease pump similar to this Vintage Alemite Pneumatic Old Garage Gear Grease Oil Pump | eBay I found mine many years ago at an auction for a garage that was going out of business. Think I paid like 30 bucks for it and it was full of grease. So far it hasn't failed to pump grease into anything and having only to deal with holding the gun ( Pistol grip ) and hold the nozzle on with no weight from a traditional gun makes it very easy to use and ensure your on the nipple. The good part is it stays in the corner and the hose reaches out to whatever I need to lube and then it actually retracts when finished I am not constantly changing tubes with so many pieces of equipment. The bad part is you have to buy your grease in bulk but I do actually save more money this way overall.

Almost every lever type grease gun I have ever sold was sold with a hose as an additional purchase. Every lever type grease gun I ever bought was bought with a hose as a separate purchase, or got a hose from a retired gun. The coupler came off the new pipe immediately and went on the hose. The pipe never was attached to the gun. I have been greasing equipment for over 40 years without spending the kind of money a lock n lube costs to be able to do the job. I'll bet I make it the rest of my life without one, too. I will guarantee there are places I grease the lock n lube won't fit, first to mind are the 3 spindles on my RM990 mower. Hope that everybody that buys them likes them, I don't need one.

This guy is an alternative to the LockNLube. Works amazingly well. I got it at a local retailer but its available either Amazon or EBay also.

I really like the look of that. Looks more solid than the LnL.

Id buy one, problem is all I can find for sale are on eBay from the US. That means $10USD shipping plus $10 Import charges on a $32USD item. Paying $52USD ($63CAD) for a Canadian grease nipple in Canada seems wrong IMHO.

Now, If I can find one at a local retailer for $30CAD, Ill buy it!. Too bad Napa, Canadian Tire or even better Princess Auto wont get on board for Canadian distribution because it looks like a solid product.

Side note, it looks like LockNLube must be paying bigtime for Google search optimization because even searching for Univerco grease coupler leads to almost 2 whole pages of links for LockNLube.

There was another recent thread about greasing and I mentioned these. I'd posted a link to the company and someone else posted either the Amazon or eBay link. I think he was from Alberta, so it might have been a Canadian link. I'll see if I can dig it up. The company is from Quebec.

I bought it from Ottawa Fastener Supply. They don't have online purchasing but could likely call them and have it mailed. Certainly would be less than the $63. Its only $30 on the shelf.

All the lever guns I bought also came with a solid pipe.
I buy 2 rubber hoses and a coupler for each gun when I bought the lever guns and immediately get rid of the metal pipe.
