I wonder why more tractor companies don't do this. Our old Oliver 770 had offset bottom links on the 3 point which looked like the ends of a Pat's. If the offsets were in it was a cat 1, if they were out it was a cat 2. The top link connected to the tractor with a wishbone which had several holes in metal plates so you could move the top link up and down. 4 pins and you could change from a cat 1 to a cat 2, the process took about 2 min.
On a side note I never knew that normal cat 1 and cat 2 hitches didn't come with a Pat's style of catch until I got my John Deere.
