Just to clarify, you can't "add" a backhoe to a GC series aftermarket, correct?

Bought the 1705 last year, and now thinking maybe I should have done the 1710.

This will require a trade-in, correct?

I don't think so. You should be able to add a cb55 and subframe to your tractor. However, I don't know if it would be cheaper to buy the entire package (new 1710) or piece the individual parts together with labor.

I have been told that you can't add a backhoe to a GC2400 and i assume it is the same for your tractor. However you could add a Woodmax or other aftter market hoe. Ed

While you could buy a cb65 hoe and a subframe . . My guess is it would be far cheaper to sell your exusting or do a tradein instead.

Why? Another year of warranty, another shot at incentives, and a great demand for the gc1705 and gc1715 units should keep the current unit valuable. AND the cost of a cb65 and subframe both from spare parts inventory would give you chills.

No, I do not believe you can add a backhoe to a 1705. Just like the Kubota BX, if you want the backhoe, you have to purchase that specific model. so your options are true in, or an aftermarket backhoe that attach to the 3pt hitch.

Directly out of my GC 1720 Manual

Section 7.1.3 Implements and Attachments

Important: Installing a three-point mounted backhoe on a GC 1705 or GC1715 will void the warranty. Backhoe attachments must have a subframe that attaches to the tractor frame.

You can add an aftermarket like woods, wallenstein or the likes. They would have a subframe and not attach to the 3pt hitch. I know woods offers 0% financing on their products as well to make it a little easier on the wallet.
