That is a very nice build! You have some fabricating skills!!:thumbsup:
Thanks Shield. I follow a lot of your posts. You'd probably have a good laugh at some of my methods.

I'm sure we have all had to improvise and use unorthodox methods.

I had to flatten out some bends in mounting plates for a backhoe bucket once. Modifying a case bucket to fit a Ford. Ford needs 8" spacing between each pin bracket. Cases uses 10" for the dipper pin and 5" for the bucket. So the case bucket mount pieces have a double bend and needed to be flat.

No press:mur: but had a bottle jack. Put the piece on the bottom of the loader bucket and used the bottle jack against the top.

Have also used a logsplitter as a horizontal press for pressing out stubborn backhoe pins and bushings.

Gotta do what you gotta do to get the job done

Some pictures of the build. I always forget to take pictures.

Nice job Myyaz33.

I'm confused by the small half round discs welded between the SSQA mount and the top tube. What are those for?

Just a gusset for additional support for the center of the ssqa.

Never seen that before. I'd think that a full fillet weld across the top of the SSQA (as well as on the bottom) to the top tube would be strong enough.

I got the idea from another build here on tbn. Some have it, some dont. Have no idea if it was necessary, but I didn't want to find out.

Understood. I'd say it is unnecessary though as standard buckets don't need more than the fillet and most grapples don't either. Never heard of a ssqa being ripped off a grapple. I wonder if what you saw on other grapple builds was the cleat for attaching one of the upper jaws on a double jaw grapple or on a very wide jaw single. Certainly no harm in having the extra gusset but I'm pretty sure it isn't necessary.
