Here's a look at some of the plugs in NC red clay.

In bare spots, you can simply run it back and forth. This makes a pretty good seedbed without having to break out the tiller.

I found the pic on the green forum, but it's a 36" Xtreme Alternating Depth aerator on the 1025R Subcompact JD.

It's really a perfect fit and produces outstanding results. Here's another pic of the same one on our BX2370, which is extremely close in size to the JD.
