How do you haul your side by side?

Why not? Pickups are made to haul. I feel fine with mine. No worry at all.

With a loading job like that, I'd not be shocked if the "tie-downs" were nothing more than the winch cable fed through the rear sliding window and wrapped around the rear view mirror on the windshield.

Look at the pic, that is not winch cable.

I took Sysop's comment as a metaphor for the whole rig looks unsafe and haphazard- but I can't speak to Sysop's intentions. Your rig does not look unsafe to me.

That truck appears to be overloaded with too much weight in the rear lifting the weight off the front axle with loss of steering, braking and overall handling abilities. Any emergency maneuver and that truck and occupants, not to mention others in the vicinity are going to have a very bad time of it. As far as I am concerned, that truck is compromising the safety of others. My comments only relate to this particular thread and has nothing to do with anyone else's truck's ability or loading circumstance.

I also have a truck, one far more capable that the one in this post, and I would not consider loading it like this particular driver has accomplished.

Hard to get enough tongue weight on a tilt trailer. If it were too heavy empty it would not stay tilted so you could load it. Went through this 15 years ago trying to haul two ATV's on a tilt trailer. If you need a dual axle trailer get one. I haul my Ranger on a 6.5x12 trailer. Sold my 22' equipment hauler because I hadn't used it in two years.

That's what my delima has turned into. If I'm going to buy a 18' tandem. Do I just upgrade to a 10,400 or 14,000lbs. trailer. Or do I buy the 7k version. But then I hate bumper pulls. Prefer a GN. So if going 14k might as well add a neck. Then the Tahoe can't pull it. Limited to my 3/4 ton truck. Which does 99% of the pulling anyway. And I have a GN 16' deck over already. See. Too many choices.

I was hoping to find a few people with the crew cabs and see what they were hauling it on. Seams everyone has a regular cab though.

I use a Big Tex 50LA 14' with ramp gate to haul my TransMule 4010 which is 11' long and my ZD1211 ZTR. Both weigh 1600#. It's bumper pull, dual 3500# axles, and has a 5000# GVWR. I like having something easier to hook up than my GN since I had my knee replaced, easier than my 20' GN to get thru the parking lot at the dealer to drop something off for service, and loads faster and safer with the gate instead of ramps. It's also nice for those quick trips to get lumber and building materials.

I recently hauled my RTV1100 (backwards), on a 10' single axle trailer and pulled that 10' trailer behind a gooseneck flatbed, and traveled over 300 miles with no problems. But I was using a Ford F350. I have since bought a different used trailer however since I know the 10' is too light for it (axle not rated for that kind of weight). I bought a used 14' double axle car hauler, but I have not used it yet. I am sure it will be fine. I tried attaching a couple of photos. Not sure they attached. It's not like email or txt. 14'.jpgHauling.jpg
