What I'm asking is there a technical reason to grind it flat after welding it? Sheesh. I think I'm typing in English. :confused3:

The welded/built up area becomes stiffer than the surrounding metal causing a stress riser. Grinding the repair to blend will give a more gradual stiffness transition and make it less likely to crack right next to the repair. ... A flap disk followed by a needle scaler peening would be ideal. What I'm asking is there a technical reason to grind it flat after welding it? Sheesh. I think I'm typing in English. :confused3:
Thank you thank you thank you.
