What did you do at work today?

Coffee, coffee and more coffee, breakfast then off to the dump. Down to the town south of me for some more groceries and then back to the house and putz around on the 'net for the rest of the day and I am still at it. Glad I am semi-retired and only work in the summer.

LOL, made coffee, went on TBN, drank coffee and decided I should eat at about 10:30 so made a couple of toasts.
At 11:30 I decided I should put some clothes on and had a bowl of soup and a sandwich.
LOL, call me retired!
At about 2:00 PM I decided that I'd visit a buddy for a coffee and we debated the world events.
Then came home and checked emails and TBN.
Did I mention that I actually believe that I'm retired!

I bought this original light off a friends Farmall Cub he's parting out and took it apart and got it cleaned and primed. I cleaned the glass with over cleaner and a toothbrush, it works wonders on glass fuel bowls as well.

I have an identical rear light on my Farmall C. Something has rubbed against the red lens and fogged it in one spot. Any ideas on how to polish it back to a shiny surface?

I don't have any idea how to polish it back to shiny, whatever you do to it though don't get it to hot or it could mess it up. Be careful with it as well, I hear the originals are pretty rare.

Had the best day in whenever Tuesday. Helped oldest daughter take her 18 month old to her heart doctor. She was born with three holes in her heart. The nurses were all smiles and the little one was very cooperative. They ran all the tests and the doctor came in all smiles. He was literally jumping up and down he was so happy, and I mean the doctor. Her heart murmur is gone. Two of the holes have completely closed. And the third one, between the upper chambers of her heart which we could actually see on slow motion ultrasound, is so small he said that it was insignificant and would probably be gone in three years when he wanted to see her again. I have worried about this little one so much but she is so active and full of life I knew the holes were not slowing her down. After ever test, whenever she was scared or needed comfort, she held her arms out and came to granddaddy for protection.

Then yesterday I went with wife to babysit my other daughter's sick 3-1/2 month son. I played with him when he was in a good mood. Got him to laugh and jabber at me. Gave him back to wife when he started crying so she could change him, feed him, and get him down for a nap. Repeat process every two hours for eight hours.

I am finding that being a full time granddaddy can sometimes be a full time job.

To me THAT is what retirement is all about!

That's good to hear. My 3 1/2 yo was born with a vsd hole. We hoped and worried every day, then he had open heart surgery to fix it at 6 mos old. He had more energy immediately following the surgery, his heart working so hard wore him out before. We had a great team-cardiologist, heart surgeon and the guy that sewed up his chest. He did such a good job you can hardly see his scar.

Thought of doing some work last week. Haven't got to it yet...

With any luck I'll be able to say that in a few years...... But for now and today, this is my 30th year of welding and building weapons of mass destruction, maybe you'll get your money's worth, but according to CBS news maybe you won't, either way the 3rd one is well under construction with a million miles of Navy required pristine welds.>>>>> The war machine fit for a superhero - YouTube
