It can be a huge deterrent... even when I sold my CAT Dozer... the guy drove hundreds of miles and almost turned around when he got off the freeway... thought for sure he was being set up.]

Fortunately, he continued and all was good...

It is something hard to describe unless you regularly experience it...

Hey, I face that in reverse. "City" people think we are dumb rural rednecks with a rifle stored in every vehicle and what could we possibly know about buying/selling anything. :D

Never looked at it this way... I think the rifle in every vehicle could be a good thing.

I venture you might have flown to Oakland on World Airways charter... lots of military coming through Oakland and lived near the Oak Knoll Military Hospital as a kid... the choppers would fly in and out all day at times... sometimes we would hear the communication through our TV and radios... back in the 60's

Heh... I didn't even know there WERE classifieds.

Join the club, I did not know there were classifieds either.:eek::laughing::laughing::laughing:

Look at the date I joined TBN...:D:D:D I think I should have known.:laughing::laughing:

I guess I likely, deep down inside knew about the classified but I have never looked at them since I don't come to TBN to shop. I don't think there was a classified when I joined TBN before there was TBN. ;):laughing::laughing:

What still amazes me about TBN is the quality of the conversation. Very little personal attacks and angst driven dialog especially compared to other websites I read but seldom post. The other websites also seem to have the same, small number of people always "talking" and thus it is kinda an echo chamber. This is not really the case on TBN.

:laughing::laughing: Reread what I said and Bruce repeated. Pretty funny.:laughing::laughing:

It took a second for me to get it too. At first I thought Bruce had hit the reply button before finishing his comment... :D:D:D

Yep, I have never read the "Friendly" Politics forum on TBN.

Same here as to never looking at classifieds. But I have sold (unneeded) tractor attachments to other TBN members purely by chance. Never have done the Craig list e-bay thing because I ain't into buying/selling that way. The experience here had a pleasant outcome.`Something that I notice about TBN is that the ratio of members to visitors is usually10 to 1. .... must be a lot of interest here.

As to the friendly politics......I don't go there.....that's kinda like the Red, Orange, Green, Yellow or Blue discussions.
Cheers,
Mike

I can say, that besides tractors, a lot of internet searches for other do-it-yourself subjects / rural living subjects lead people to TBN.
Just the other day I was trying to find info on how a particular device for a water well ballast tank works. Doing a google search, there's no information anywhere on the internet (only some clues). After a bit of searching, google pointed me to a link that was describing my component and problem exactly! And it was on TBN! Now we're cooking! Only problem was it was MY THREAD I started on TBN asking the same question! :banghead:

S... the ratio of members to visitors is usually10 to 1. .... must be a lot of interest here...

A while back I came onto the site without logging in. After about three moves to different threads or forums, I was invited to sign in or join before being allowed to continue. That probably discourages a lot of visitors.

IIRC, there is an option to close that window (the escape key works, or you can click an X or a cancel button).
