Does anyone else have any ideas/sides to share. Im thinking of having some made out of aluminum or trying to convert a set off a tractor trailer rig.

Here's the sides I built for my 16 ft car hauler a couple years ago and still holding together quite well. Built from 2x4s and rough cut 1x8 pine boards. 6 pieces held together with door hinges and hairpin cotter pins at the corners and side section junctions:

These are my sides, the stake pockets are accessible to tie down to, and they remove easily. They basically keep loose stuff contained and I don't haul firewood as it don't get cold for very long in Florida.

I found a set of side boards off of a big flatbed trailer for sale. I guess I could cut them down and make this sort of setup...

I've always wanted a setup like that, as it seems like 90% of the time the stuff I haul won't fit in an enclosed trailer or would be too hard to load, but just throwing a tarp over an open trailer isn't very waterproof.

Have been researching using MDO plywood for the sides and off the shelf truck tarp bows and brackets.

Sme cheap 1/2" plywood & scrap 2x4 & 2x6. Picked up the stake pockets & trailer latches off Amazon. Used it to haul some aged manure & topsoil from neighbors to fill some grade in the back yard. Not sure if the wife got any photos of stuff installed or me hauling manure.
