I will have to think about it. If there was an easy way to put a 3 point and rear PTO for other attachments I would be more interested. For that amount of money I should probably be looking for a tractor

There is an aftermarket 3 point available for the RTV900 and RTV1100 (that appears to be a RTVX900).

I think I'm just going to have to look for a tractor. Buy the time I buy a 3 point I will be well on my way to a older 40 to 80 hp tractor.

Now I'm wondering if I could mount a 3 point on the back of my 1995 6.5 diesel Tahoe.

Any thoughts on that? Would there be a decent way of mounting a 3 point and rear PTO on the Tahoe?

Or my 94 K3500 truck it has a NV4500 transmission. Or my 1991 International Model 4700 DTA 360 with Spicer 6 speed

I have a Toro 455D that would be a great donor for the project. The deck is shot, but everything else works fine (aside from the brakes, which I never use because of the hydro trans).

The engine runs like a top. I don't know if it was replaced before I bough it, or what... but it fires up on first turn and has never smoked, not even at startup.

I'm assuming you're familiar with the unit, but here's some specs:

-55hp Peugeot 4cyl
-4wd
-126" trifold deck
-Electric PTO clutch (not sure on locking torque, but I've never heard one slip)
-two speed HST (I think the speeds are 8 and 14mph)

This thing runs quieter than my 325.

I bought it to fix up and attach a flail mower, but I don't have the time. I've decided to purchase a Grasshopper 930 with a a flail mower instead.

On a more productive note, I FINALLY found a Toro OEM flail mower for the 325.

$1,200 with less than 680hrs use.

Yep, good deal. They are well built heavy duty mowers. The rotor can be removed and turned around, to use the unworn cutting edge, instead of flipping each pair of blades.

I plan on ordering a a few different styles of blades.

Iowa Farm Equipment has verticut straight blades to mount between the Y knives. I have a lot of thatch, so that would be greatly useful.

They also have both stamped steel and cast broadknives. The stamped steel is great for a better finish cut. The cast ones are heavy, so efficiency isn't their strong point... but they're tough as you can get, especially in heavy undergrowth with 1"+ saplings/etc.

Have you mowed over/around any unseen rock outcroppings with your flail?

I was curious as to how the Y knives hold up to that, as nearly every job I have for the flail will be faced with that issue here in the mountains.

I have occasionally hit some sand rock with it, didn't seem to faze it. :thumbsup:
