If you go with this deal be sure they include a ballast box for the 3pt. Would will not be able to do much with the loader without it.

I would suggest loaded rear tires verses the ballast box..

I think Ill buy a tractor and mower first. Something to cut the finish grass near the house, then Ill look for a gently used bush hog for the pasture. I forgot I get a $3,000 bonus in june so I could use that to buy attachments

Just remember to ask these questions.

1. How easy is the bucket to take off.
2. How easy is the loader to take off.
3. How easy is the deck to take off.
4. Does it have a mid PTO standard. (Many economy tractors don't)

You want quick disconnect on EVERYTHING.

You may never take your loader off, some guys on here use there loader like any attachment and constantly take it off, but you at least need that option, could be the difference of 10 mins vs 2 hour job.

If those prices that JD are promoting was for the R series, $199 per month wouldn't be a bad price.

Just keep in mind, my payment is $317 per month and I have a used cabbed 4 series, turbocharged 48hp. 2,000lb lift on the FEL.

If I walked in JD and wanted the deal for the 1 series I would make them upgrade to the R series and the quick disconnect FEL and lose the trailer, I would be happy with that at $199 per month. Or go with the 2 series and add the deck to that deal, lose the box blade (that tractor really needs the tandem trailer like in there 3025E deal)

Also remember, tractors under 26hp are exempt from the tier 4 emissions, that's why in these deals they step up frame size but keep the engine under 26hp to keep prices low.

The more Im researching the more I think we may be ok with the SCUT. I dont see us doing anything too ground breaking other than normal household stuff. Heres what Ive got so far:

What other categories do I need to look for. Ive noticed its tricky finding some of the specs.

A couple questions:

- What is the importance of the lift at 24" behind? I noticed the massey is over 130lbs less than JD ands Kubota?

- What is the limited cat 1 hitch on the JD?

Those are 3pt lifting weights I believe and not loader. That's 24inches off the tractor on the 3pt

Limited Cat 1 I would guess is fixed lifting arms that can't be taken off, you would take them off to put on a backhoe ext. just a guess. Not sure.

Weight is another thing to keep track of, in ground engagement weight is king

Financing and rebates could be make or break a choice, down payment and term. Incentives ext.

For example, Mahindra includes the FEL in the tractor price, the rest counts it as a attachment, that makes a difference with the 2 attachment rebates most are pushing.

Agree with the majority. I have 5 acres. I started with a D170 riding mower. It was useful, but so many projects were out of reach. Started looking at the X series, thought they were very expensive when considering their limitations. I went to a BX25D (SCUT) and haven't regretted it for one minute. Anything less and you will pretty quickly realize you didn't buy enough machine. Owning land comes with a lot of projects and work. Having an appropriately sized machine makes that work not only possible, but also fun. Over time, you will likely find that you actually want to use that land (orchard? Vegetable garden? Etc.). If you just get a mower, then your limited to growing and cutting weeds.
