Sad that this had to happen ! Zero turn mowers are super dangerous even for the operator. They don't have the braking or stable operation like a lawn tractor. As stated before...when the operator gets distracted bad things happen. Tragic accident that turned deadly all because the father was trying to make his children happy !

That's a high price to pay for being stupid.

I had a neighbor down the street who would ride down our gravel road at 30-40 mph with his toddler on his lap, one hand on the toddler and one on the steering.

There are no words for that kind of stupidity. That's not a momentary lapse, that's just being brain dead.

No sympathy for the father? I can't imagine the horror of seeing your child hacked up and that picture for ever ingrained in his memory. Accidents do and always will happen.

I've got sympathy for all involved. Nobody should have to bury their own child. But the root cause is still negligent stupidity.
