1025R vs BX2380

Yes it is. The loader capacities listed by Kubota were less than the Deere and the local Kubota dealer only used the SSQA loaders, which were even less. The Kubota dealer said their capacities where higher than advertised but I could never find anything in solid numbers. I looked at comparisons on youtube but couldn't find any comparisons of lift capacity between Deere and Kubota. The Messicks comparison was almost comical because they were so slanted towards the Kubota. While I didn't mind the forward and reverse pedals on the Kubota, I liked the side by side pedals on the Deere better. I liked being able to get a 53" bucket over the 48" or 49" Kubota bucket. I liked the lights situated on the fenders of the Deere. I also liked the position control on the 3 point hitch. I actually liked the looks of the Kubota better. These were just my thoughts and I understand that not everyone feels or thinks the same way as I do, which is why there are different brands.

Thanks, the 2 are so close in price and function as well as reputation that it really is a toss up. For me, the dealer is offering the BX25, FEL and BH, as well as the Land Pride grapple for 1930. I think that is a good deal. I do not think I could even come close to that price for the 1025r FEL and BH, let alone the grapple (which JD cannot accommodate)

FWIW, my BX2670, my FEL will lift over 800# in landscape blocks on a pallet... but it's how high you want to go up that limits it. Last week I lifted and carried a 22" diameter blue spruce log over 12' long. Once I tried to load it on a dump trailer, it needed to be cut in 1/3's. The tree guys estimated it at over 800#. Not sure how accurate that is. Woodweb estimates it at over 1,200# for black spruce. I know the dimensions are correct.

What part of MD do you live? I am getting the 1025r from PA. It may be at least worth the call. I stopped at the dealer just to say I covered my all my bases before I bought the Kubota. Then he gave me their price and I kept driving myself crazy trying to decide.

Just got back from my final SCUT shopping trip. Finally, decision made: (drum roll...) Went with the BX2380. Here's the rest of the story -

Today, I drove the LS MT125, and I must say, it is a robust unit! Had my previous price points not changed, that would have been my choice. But....

Called some new dealers, and found a couple VERY aggressive KB dealers offering big discounts. I scored a new 2017 BX2380 w/FEL for $12800 (b/f tax). That's within $200 of the LS. The KB was always my favorite, if I didn't consider price. However, it had previously been +$1600 to the LS, & +$1200 to the 1023E, & I didn't feel it was THAT much better. But now cheaper than the 1023E, and within $200 of the LS, yes, I feel it is the best *value* for me.

So, happy to be moving forward, hope to have in my garage soon!

That seems to be a great deal on a brand new model! The BX2380 has a lot of very nice features and 3rd party attachment support that I don't think the LS has. Maybe I should have spent more time talking to Kubota dealers to see what discounts were available.

Im also debating between the bx2380 and 1025r. was also considering mahindra emax 22 ( any thoughts on mahindra?). I drove both today but was more impressed with the deere. First impressions upon seeing them both I thought the JD looked more like a tractor and less like a lawnmower on steroids. I didn't like the "sweet spot" on the loader stick as opposed to the easy dual action on the BX. The bucket on the deere pulled up quicker at idle too. The kubota dealership i went to said that kubota has mandatory insurance throughout the life of the loan and I did the math, like $1800!! whereas the JD guy said that was ridiculous and it is covered under our homeowner insurance already. Thanks for all the great info guys....first time post.

Yeah, I was really surprised the quote came in that low! Crazy to think almost $3000 difference among dealers for the same thing.

yeah that is part of the financing terms. I have to provide them with my insurance info and agent info. I will double check that though. thanks

No, KUBOTA specific insurance is not a requirement by Kubota. THAT is a sales gimmick. I have financed five Kubota's and NEVER bought Kubota Insurance. My homeowners covers my tractor.
That said, discuss what is covered if you take your tractor off your property, first.
It might not be covered... especially if you accept payment for work using the tractor. A good neighbor event might not matter.
