You can get the same filter housing for about $55, I mounted the $40 B series filter on my BX2230 and G2160 using a part of a flat bracket, I bent in a vise and it is mounted on side of engine by the injection pump, with the fuel in, out and bleed return lines hooked up so it self bleeds. No brush can get to it and is easy to drop bowl and dump water out.
Cost was less then $60 each and even used Gates Barrier fuel line. Left inline filter before electric pump but as everyone knows they can pass water and that is where the B series filter traps all the water in the bowl.

The Kubota kit I put on the RTV-1100 has the bracket, water seperator and hose.

Ron, your right, your dealer has no idea because i bought the complete kit off from ebay for $175 (ebay name: botasandy) The folks i bought the kit from actually build the kit... The filter assembly itself is genuine kabota item and the dealer can get them. The filter assembly is actually made for the M5700 kabota tractor #15521-43015 (costs around $50 to $60 just for the filter assembly) These folks make up all the correct hoses`s & brass fitting`s to do the complete install. Their work is absolutely stunning. They send VERY detailed instructions on how to install it. It also comes WITH the special built mount to install it on the BX tractors. I will try to post it in here where i bought the kit. Kubota BX Fuel Filter relocation kit BX237,BX24,BX25D,BX23S FEL L24,L243,L34 | eBay <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=513329"/> This kit DOES come with only one filter cartridge, the cartridge itself is only $3.90 when you buy one from the kabota dealer.
Most everything of what you said is incorrect about the filter housing, twist as you may but their is a reason that Kubota went to the non corrosive plastic housing with automatic shutoff and self bleeding vent system on the newer tractors.
The element changes in 30 seconds also and you do not need the spanner wrench for the ring that gets jammed up on the metal one, and it does jam up and will not loosen by hand.
There is a reason that I have the metal housing on only one machine and the plastic one is on three machines

Holy smokes, that glass ball filter looks way too exposed for me! Aren't you worried about something hitting it and breaking the glass?
Automatic shut off...??? Self bleeding...??? Would you mind posting pictures of this.
I dont need a wrench to tighten OR remove the metal spanner nut. A manual shutoff valve is more my flavor, especially during transport.
