Have you told them that you hold them to a higher standard than you do yourself? How did that go?

Any cop who has a problem with that should not be a cop.

Yeah, I figured that went over your head.

You've mentioned many times the LEOs who are your friends. I just thought maybe one/some of them might like to view this thread.

Guess that's probably not going to happen.

Why should it?

You are trying to imply he's lying about having LEO friends, and that if he really does, he should be able to get one to jump on this thread to verify what he's saying. And of course, when it doesn't happen, you'll preen in your certainty that he doesn't really have any LEO friends.

I don't know whether that's more childish or stupid, but it's a whole lot of both.

Certainly went over your head. I totally believe he has LEO friends. That's why I suggested he invite one to this thread.

He's not going to do that and most here understand why.

Sorry you can't get that. :)

I think Soundguy's explanation above clearly explains how that happened.

It's up to us as a society to correct this.

Yup.... That's the attitude I expected.

It's "societies" fault & problem.
Police officers are not & never have been at fault for anything.

No use talking to you, nothing will convince you of anything other then the heroic value of anyone that wears or ever wore a uniform.

Everyone should aspire to hold themselves to a higher standard than the norm. Think about what that would lead to... ? Whether your are a LEO, common person, or a criminal. Food for thought.

And that is EXACTLY why one should understand and know their rights when dealing with ANY LEO.

Sorry, I don't understand what LEO I know have come on this forum here will accomplish. What we're discussing here hasn't already been discussed in numerous other forum / social media outlets. The fact is if I like the guy (or woman), I wouldn't want them to waste their here on this discussion.

Other than some speeding tickets and seat belt violations, I'm a respectful, law abiding citizen. Yes, I know, doing 57 in a 55 (last ticket, coming down on 421 from Boone to Wilkesboro, and anyone who makes that drive will tell you the state cops will nail you for even doing 56 in the 55) makes me a menace to others, but at least I use my turn signal and don't do 55 in the left lane LOL. It's like if you think you actually have the freedom to exercise and know your rights, you're being disrespectful to those in LEO community, which I don't understand because some of the guys I know tell me the same thing... know your rights.

If I hadn't told the story, one night a state cop pulled me over because he thought I was drinking (apparently my tires hit the yellow line as that's what he informed me). It was late at night and I was on my way to a hotel because I had to get up early the next day to be at a jobsite and I didn't feel like driving 3 to 4 hours from the house the next morning and then start work. The cop was walking around my car shining his light looking around inside my car. I asked him what he was looking for. He said nothing. I then asked him that if he was going to write me up for anything, to please do it so I could get to my hotel as I had a job to get to in the morning. He let me go. For myself, I wasn't being disrespectful, but to the point. He was on a fishing expedition and I wasn't going to have any of it.

Yes, we understand why. There are quite a number of officers and/or retired officers who are members on TBN, but most of us are smart enough to know that there is nothing to be gained by arguing with someone like you who has his mind made up and will never change it. Most people are also smart enough to know that, since police officers are humans, there are both good and bad, and even good ones can make mistakes at times just like the rest of the humans.
