The most ironic part of this with you three is if tonight you are violated you will instantly call the LEOs and expect them to right this wrong. How ironic is that.

And then tomorrow you will continue this conversation about how "bag" LEOs are.

I don't get it. :confused3:

The only reason I would call a cop is if it was required for me to have a police report.
I expect nothing more from them and don't even expect that to be accurate.

My problem usually already starts with the snarky 911 operator.

Some of you guys have vastly different experiences than some of us. I have never run into a snarky 911 operator, and not saying they don't exist, but all I have ever seen have been professional and efficient. Of course I may be biased, I was a LEO for a while when younger. I also had a lot of hours answering the phones by myself for a 1st class county, and I have literally heard it all. I hope I did a good professional job. But it is a tad hard to evaluate yourself. I have heard all kinds of emotional states of people calling in. From screaming/crying to dead calm. One of the calmest lady's I remeber called to inform me that her husband had just shot himself in the mouth with a .22 pistol (failed suicide attempt) and was still conscious. When deputies arrived he seemed alert and responsive. The x-ray showed the bullet just under the skull at the top of his head and a brain with a bullet track in it and also much debris from his upper denture. He survived. I can't imagine the pain.

I gave you an account as I remember hearing it. You don't accept that. You want to spin it.

I truly understand why what I've told you does not make sense. Because it doesn't fit your mold of the LEO is "bad", everyone else is "good".

This man shot the LEO for absolutely no reason. I told you that. You can't accept that. It must have been the LEO's fault.

As others have said in this thread before me, there's no truth in you. I concede. You win. Cops are bad, society is good.

Lastly, you are right. It makes no sense. That's been my point all along. LEO's have to accept that every contact makes no sense. So expect the worst.

I don't win anything debating someone on a internet forum.

Apparently my statement about there being good cops and bad cops went over your head as well. Are you that naive to sincerely believe that I think that all cops are bad? I will however admit that just because a LEO takes a course of action that ends in the arrest, injury or death of someone, I don't automatically think the LEO's call was right just because they wear a uniform.

Your story as is doesn't really make any sense. I'm asking for information, that is all. Personally, a story posting without all the facts isn't a story worth posting in the first place.

I agree with you, a LEO should ALWAYS expect the worse. I know for a fact that LE agencies use live dash cam video as training on what NOT to do. A simple mistake could cost your your life. One could argue that because of this, perhaps LEO's should be given more leeway in their judgement if someone ends up dead by mistake, but I for one don't think so.

Yet ANOTHER reason I teach my boys to respect the law. They should treat the law the way they treat me, with the exception that if I ask them a question, until they are not living in my home, they have to answer my questions. They do not however have to answer a LEO's question (although both are teens now, they still have some time time until they are able to drive, and at that point, they may get a cell phone). My one boy has already asked me about his constituitional rights on answering my questions, to which I replied it doesn't apply when you're living in my house:laughing:

It seems that you think because I warn my boys about the reality that there are bad cops out there you think I'm "anti police", and you'd be wrong again.

I sincerely hope that you aren't naive enough to believe that our justice system is only looking for "truth and justice for all".

My problem usually already starts with the snarky 911 operator.

I've had to make 5 phone calls to 911, all while I was driving (actually, I pulled over to the side of the road, stopped the car and turned off the ignition;).

One was actually for a pair of bank robbers (which I didn't know at the time) that were driving like a bat out of **** OFF the side of the road to get around traffic. Car finally flipped and I had about 8 cruisers go past me doing at least 90. Truck flipped down the road and it was interesting seeing 10 cops with guns drawn on the side of the road when I drove by.

One was for a woman on the side of the road who apparently was the victim of spousal abuse (again, didn't know at the time).

Couple for stranded motorist who were in a REALLY bad postion on the road.

Last for a pair of woman driving a pick up truck who almost ran head into a semi truck on a rural road coming in the opposite direction. They were either drunk the way she was driving (during the day), was on medication, couldn't drive worth a crap or had truck issues.

EVERY call I made to 911, the person I talked to at the other end was professional and courteous.

The woman who might of been drunk was actually funny. The dispatcher told me they had gotten a call on the same vehicle and asked were I was at. I was informed that they had a cop waiting for them up in the next rural town only a mile out (I was stuck behind them on a two lane rural road). They asked me to stay on the phone with them until we hit town. One stop light coming into town, and I could see the cop waiting for them (cop was left before the traffic light on our left coming into town). Lady in the truck went past the cop and went through the red light right in front of the cop to boot.

For the record, I have NEVER called 911 for someone not wearing their seat belt or driving under 100 MPH:D

The way I see it, I don't consider myself nosey MFer trying to be in someone elses business, just want to make certain no one ends up dead in a bad position if I can do anything about it.

Every time you don't like what I say you verbally attack me with judgemental remarks about my personal character. Why is that?

Every time you don't like what I say you verbally attack me with judgemental remarks about my personal character. Why is that?

By stating "it went over your head" I'm verbally attacking you?

It's not what you say, it's the assumptions you make per my own comments yet you won't elaborate on when I ask you a direct question.

Just like the story you posted on the cop being shot... I try to hold judgment on anything until I know at least the majority of the story. I ask you for more info, you can't provide, and then assume what my judgement is just because I ask for more information.

Just like your assumption on me due to what I teach my own children.

That said, you would be amazed at the amount of videos I can post on LEO's either not knowing the law or abusing their position of power. Do those videos that I could post make me believe that all LEO's are bad? Heck no. I only admit that there are good and bad people who were the LEO uniform. Same can be said for soldiers or anyone else in life as well.

The only people I trust blindly are my wife, father, in laws and God, not men and woman just because they wear "blue".

In my defense, none of my posts directed towards you have lived up to your name in comparison to your lack of response to my direct question in the Kubota forum. Ironic that you had to chime in there yet would not provide an answer... That said, no different than this forum, so I guess it's par for the course with you.

There are many men on this forum who's opinion on non technical matters I may not agree with, but I can respect. To get respect, you have to give respect. My failing as a human being is I can't always turn the other cheek and will respond in kind. Sad to say, at this point in time, you're not one of those men whose opinion I can differ with yet still respect. My opinion only, and we all know what opinions are like.

You know what I was referring to.

I am debating. You are arguing. And you are a very good dancer.

What question are you talking about? Smooth distraction. :)

PRIME example in your response. I ask you a question, and you won't give me a direct response. You ASSUME I know what you were refering to even though I asked you a direct question pertaining to what comments I've made you were refering to.

I'm arguing yet your debating?

I understand that the written word can easily be mis conveyed, thus sometimes I look for clarification.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but there are some people I have given up responding on internet forums to due to never being able to get a straight answer from them, and you have become one of them.

I have never used a ignore list or whatever they have on forums to ignore people, just pointing out that after this last post directed towards you, you won't get any more responses from me.

Please don't take that as a lack of conviction on my end.

Anyone with irrational fear of law enforcement personnel are in need of anger management courses!

Some more than others!
