This has been a fun thread to read... relaxing day off from work, hanging out with the wife and two youngest kids (others at school) and catching up on TBN...
Many of the things spoken of in this thread, I can relate to. I have been in the electrical field for 20+ years, and have developed an eye for astheticly pleasing, and as such, cover screws vertical if reasonable without cracking covers. I explained this theory to my employees when I had them. Neat, straight, level and plumb, organized looking work yields top dollar rates the we charged.
Many of the "OCD" issues as claimed can fall into simple organization, which is reasonable and efficient. It becomes OCD when your whole world stops until you've set that one thing that's out of order back in place and can't get past it if you don't. I have a certain way I want our trash cans dealt with, hay bale ropes and empty feed sacks in the barn cleaned up, compressor air hose rolled up and not just left on the floor... but explain that to a 17 year old step son without starting a war with redheaded momma. My 'issues' are all logically based on safety and efficiency, but I also tolerate a lot of 'out of line' items. I never worry about what direction my money is on my wallet, because it's never there! Wife pays for everything, and anytime I'm buying anything, (mostly fuel for my truck going to work) it's on a bank card!
Theres a fine fuzzy line between organization and obsession. Know when to let go, when it is a good thing and when it can go either way...
Good thread!
