Thanks for the help Gator. I’m sure the second picture I posted is a 305. The first picture doesn’t match the 305 diagram though.
At least not exactly.

That’s an interesting analysis BrokenTrack. I could always just repair it.
Thanks a bunch!

Or you could come down to Jacksonville and pick up one of the ones I have out back that have rusted out decks! They aren't worth me putting the money into them to rebuild the decks, but they are great for parts!

It appears to be an old 305. Parts may be an issue with the elevated pedestal. Those hogs are what made Bush Hog the name that they are. I've got several that are going to be scrapped. Actually sold one of the 306's but it was a later model without stump jumper. If it is in good working order it will serve you well.

I need help from a Bush Hog pro.
I am thinking about purchasing this Bush Hog rotary cutter but I dont know what model it is.
Does anyone know?
I want to know the model so I can order replacement parts if it needs it.
Sorry this is the only photo I have. It is a 5 foot Bush Hog.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that I'd junk that bush hog unless you do some repair to those rusted panels on top. About 15 years ago, my wife and I were driving our 240D across alligator alley in Florida when "wham". Something put like a 45 caliber hole in the driver's side door. We stopped and stopped the people doing mowing in the median. Cops were called. They inspected the equipment. The bush hogs were missing some chains around the edges and had some gaping rust holes in the top.

They paid up, and I got a good painter who actually ended up spraying the whole side of the car such that you could not tell it had been damaged. We sold that car at 26 years of age, and it still looked inside and out like new. About 3 or 4 years later, I think the people that bought it were advertising it as "pristine" with a price $1,000 higher than what they'd paid for it. "Pristine", it wasn't because of that whole side repaint.

I guess I am old school because it seems silly to me to scrap Bushogs of such quality that they cannot even be bought any more, just because of some rusted tops. $50 in 11 gauge steel from a steel shop, $5 in a package of cut off wheels at Harbor freight for a 5" grinder, and a $8 quart of paint will make them like new again.

I agree! I bought a whole trailer load of them from a guy in Astor, Fl that he had acquired from a city on the beach. The salt air works havoc on the decks when you leave them outside. I rebuilt several of them to sell, used one myself and sold a few as is. The rest are just sitting out back waiting on Black Sheep to come this way!
