Maybe the two plates that make up the tractor portion of the 4pt have been forced inwards or outwards during your tractor use. And they do not have the same spacing that they did when you took the hoe off. They are just bolted to the axle with those big bolts, and it would not be hard to bang into something and maybe get one to move. My plates were a little too far out and I moved them in a little to give me a little more side slop to get it on/off. I am sure there is some side to side slop in the bolt holes in the 4pt part that bolts to the hoe, too. Not much, but maybe enough to help you out. I know that the ' putting the durn thing back on ' can be a pain somedays. The problem is that moving the bucket, the stick, or either of the stabilizers changes the geometry of what you are attempting to do in about a million different directions/angles. And the attitude of the person wiggling the control sticks can sometimes be a problem. Just the simple thing of lifting the hoe up in alignment with the tractor 4pt, backing the tractor up a little, and then drop'n in place sounds easy. Somedays it is..... :) If you get too frustrated, I have a couple shovels I can lend you so you can still dig.... [[[ :) ]]]

It's not a spacing issue it's a knucklehead user issue. Nothing is bent because I've done nothing with the rear of the tractor 3pt or PTO wise. Since I took the hoe off all I've done with it is push some snow around.

If the BH is tipped away from the tractor it should allow the pins to fully engage the hooks as you lower it. Then tip the BH back toward the tractor to engage the upper attachments.

I know all that stuff and how it should work but it ain't. I've been through this exercise before. Now that it's on the ground I'll get someone to help spot me as I back into it. But somehow someway this should be easier than it is.

Do you have a tractor or a fancied lawn mower? You ain't moving my tractor by hand, especially off pavement or the hoe either unless it's on the dolly.
A tractor. I've done it for years! Not hard for me just use the back tire treads for leverage. I roll trailer loads of stuff around by hand also...not hard for me at all. As long as I can remember I've carried and moved heavy stuff.

Maybe is is an operator ' age ' issue.... [[[ :) :) :) ]]] I have extra problems with mine sometimes... but it is usually because I am not holding my mouth right... Since I got my third Mahindri, I just leave it on....

Here's my little lawn mower. I'm 65, maybe I'm missing something, but it should go on easily. I think pictures would help to figure out what's wrong. I just removed mine, then back on. Tractor now has 110 hours, hoe maybe 15. It's easier each time. As someone suggested I think something is bent, out of line, worn, etc.
I just use stabilizers and roll the lawn mower back and forth as needed. Easy. 20180606_183834.jpeg20180606_175209.jpeg20180606_183846.jpeg20180606_183912.jpeg

BTW on my tractor the hole bosses are on the tractor and the matching holes and guides are on the body of the hoe. Sounds like exactly opposite of yours.

Yep yours is exactly like mine. See those C shaped guide dohickeys welded to the inside? Those hit the top of the pin bosses when I try to rotate the hoe so the pins will engage the hooks. If they were open toward the bottom instead of directly forward I would not be having the problem with the hoe on the dolly as they would tend to aid not hinder things.

I think the problem is that it's incompatible with the hoe on the dolly I made. I put it on the ground and with someone helping to spot me I'll probably get it on. I'm not gonna do it single handed because I liable to break something if I keep at it.
