It's not a spacing issue it's a knucklehead user issue. Nothing is bent because I've done nothing with the rear of the tractor 3pt or PTO wise. Since I took the hoe off all I've done with it is push some snow around.
Maybe the two plates that make up the tractor portion of the 4pt have been forced inwards or outwards during your tractor use. And they do not have the same spacing that they did when you took the hoe off. They are just bolted to the axle with those big bolts, and it would not be hard to bang into something and maybe get one to move. My plates were a little too far out and I moved them in a little to give me a little more side slop to get it on/off. I am sure there is some side to side slop in the bolt holes in the 4pt part that bolts to the hoe, too. Not much, but maybe enough to help you out. I know that the ' putting the durn thing back on ' can be a pain somedays. The problem is that moving the bucket, the stick, or either of the stabilizers changes the geometry of what you are attempting to do in about a million different directions/angles. And the attitude of the person wiggling the control sticks can sometimes be a problem. Just the simple thing of lifting the hoe up in alignment with the tractor 4pt, backing the tractor up a little, and then drop'n in place sounds easy. Somedays it is.....If you get too frustrated, I have a couple shovels I can lend you so you can still dig.... [[[
