With the hoe in what position. It varies ya know. To answer your question I can get the pins over the hooks but when I rotate the hoe to seat the pins in the hooks the guides on the upper pin mouths push the hoe back off the hooks so they can't engage.

Are you lower pins on backhoe seated firmly in the bottom of the mount hooks on the tractor?

i understand your top mount hole bosses on the bh are hitting the angled guide fins on the back of the tractor, it is just hard to imagine enough interference to force the bottom pins on bh out of the tractor hooks... unless they are not seated firmly.

or did something get bent?

No, in a nutshell that's the problem. They won't rotate in because the guides around the upper pin holes push the hoe back and off the hooks. I've only said that about six times now.

It's the end of round two and I got the hoe off the dolly and it's sitting on the ground now. There is so much crap that gets in the way. I actually managed to uncouple one of the hydraulic lines somehow earlier. Slid the collar back and it popped right off. 3pt pins, 3pt lift, PTO shield, etc. etc. What a huge PITA! This ought to be a whole heap easier than it is. It seems to me that the folks making tractor stuff don't put a whole lot of thought into it.

They can't get seated into the hooks. The pins only get to the rear and top of the hook and then they slip right off because of those stinking guides. There is something dimensionally and geometrically just perfect to screw me over. So now it's off the dolly and on the ground. I'll do round three after lunch.

BTW on my tractor the hole bosses are on the tractor and the matching holes and guides are on the body of the hoe. Sounds like exactly opposite of yours.

Re: OK so what's the drill? How do I get this @#$*&^+ back hoe back on the tractor?

Maybe the two plates that make up the tractor portion of the 4pt have been forced inwards or outwards during your tractor use. And they do not have the same spacing that they did when you took the hoe off. They are just bolted to the axle with those big bolts, and it would not be hard to bang into something and maybe get one to move. My plates were a little too far out and I moved them in a little to give me a little more side slop to get it on/off. I am sure there is some side to side slop in the bolt holes in the 4pt part that bolts to the hoe, too. Not much, but maybe enough to help you out. I know that the ' putting the durn thing back on ' can be a pain somedays. The problem is that moving the bucket, the stick, or either of the stabilizers changes the geometry of what you are attempting to do in about a million different directions/angles. And the attitude of the person wiggling the control sticks can sometimes be a problem. Just the simple thing of lifting the hoe up in alignment with the tractor 4pt, backing the tractor up a little, and then drop'n in place sounds easy. Somedays it is..... :) If you get too frustrated, I have a couple shovels I can lend you so you can still dig.... [[[ :) ]]]

sorry if this has been mentioned, but post a few pictures if you can. Maybe one of the guys that has similar setup can identify what the difference is that is causing your pain. I have a 3pt backhoe and it takes a few minutes to get it hooked up, then I have to add brackets and such, doubling the connection time. I did not want 3pt hoe, but that is what the budget allowed. My plan is to make a subframe mount someday..

i will have pictures posted of mine. our are the same 90% sure. i about got the 1500 and salesman said that bh stuff was the same.... and we all know those guys don’t lie

Re: OK so what's the drill? How do I get this @#$*&^+ back hoe back on the tractor?

If the BH is tipped away from the tractor it should allow the pins to fully engage the hooks as you lower it. Then tip the BH back toward the tractor to engage the upper attachments.

My woods was a real pain the first few times, even after I learned how.

Seems like after using it a few times, the tolerances between all the parts loosened up and it got better.
