Used Kubotas selling for original prices?

A couple years ago I looked at my BILs Harley. He said he wanted $3000 for it and I didn't want to dicker with a hard nosed farmer so I let it pass because I could get that style anytime for that price. Although he really kept it up nice.

Last year he told me he sold it for $2700 to some stranger. Once a person begins selling his expensive stuff he might get a rude awakening as to how few people are willing to pay that much for it.

Harley's are a dime a dozen...

Coincidentally, I was at my local Kubota dealer yesterday...Been having a very aggravating, intermittent no start issue with my L3700SU. Speaking with the service guy, we figured it was most likely the pedal safety switch and not the starter. While I was there was a new B26 that caught my eye... I asked what my 280 hour tractor/loader/backhoe and 3rd function valve in the front was worth. ...I think I paid 25-26k 7 or so years ago...Dealer said trade was 16,500.. but retail was in the 20K range. ... So hypothetically.. if I sold it retail ..depreciation is in the 1,000 a year range...I think that is pretty good.

It is probably worth more, truth be known. Kubota dealers hate taking in trades.

I think everyone knows that the dealer has to make something on trade ins. It can be a little shocking what they offer but they seem to offer better for tractors than what you get on cars and pickups. It can be a pain in the buttt selling vehicles yourself is all.

It’s pretty obvious to me there’s folks participating in this thread that don’t.

Well you are probably right. I should have said that any reasonable person who stops and thinks about it should understand. Certainly anyone who has been in business.
