Decent quality grease gun?

I have the Dewalt 30V and it's fine.If you use an air powered gun, always be sure to only grip it over the spring that comes with the flex line. I put my SIL to work as a service oiler years ago when I was running a construction crew and someone had removed that spring. One day after we shut down he was servicing the equip. and on one tough zerk the hose popped where his hand was gripping the hose and it shot high pressure grease into his hand. Luckily we were close to a big hospital and it was still touch and go for several days whether they could save the hand. He still has problems with flexibility in that hand.
The best oiler I ever saw always used a hand pump gun with about a 2' steel tube on it and he was the fastest Ive ever seen. This was on big dozers, scrapers and all other equipment.

I always wondered about that. Fluid injection scares me.

My pneumatic grease gun has a 1' steel tube, which I trust way more than a rubber hose. I still don't touch it while I'm pumping it.

over the last 40 years I have collected many grease guns, looking for something that would make the job quick and easy to use, I found the perfect gun when I purchased a Milwaukee 18v grease gun I go thru a tube of grease each week when I am working my equipment and this has made my life so much easier. by the way all of the old guns sit under a bench.

I didn't read all the answers, but of the several grease guns I own, no loner use the air powered one.

The reason why is, in the winter when the grease get's cold/thick, you can't trust the air powered gun to be pushing grease, even though it "sounds" like it's working!

SO, my "best" gun is a Lincoln that I've had a "long" time, it still works perfectly.

Followed this with interest and thought a grease gun could be a useful addition to my Milwaukee 18v Fuel stable until I saw that it cost AU$480.00 (no battery).
I just lost interest and will persevere with my present gun.

Sure wish I came up with the LocknLube!

You mean you wish you had invented it ? Yeah, I'm betting the people who hold the patents are doing rather well.

I'm waiting for the U-joint female end that latches onto a std PTO shaft, pulls itself on-- maybe with one lever -- , and latches itself into place. Finishes with a nice solid confirmation clunk. Somebody is going to get rich on that one one of these days.

I might be in a rare camp, but I don’t like the LocknLube. It’s a fat head that’s harder to get into tight places. It requires a lot more cleaning on a recessed zerk and I didn’t have any luck at all on the small U-joints on shaft drive mower decks. For about 90 percent of greasing I prefer a regular tip on a metal line. The regular tips on flex hose are more frustrating.

You are a rare bird... if the LocknLube doesn't work for most all of your zerks, I am wondering what alien equipment you are greasing? :D
