Bonehead Award of the year

I remember back in 79 or 80 while in high school my friends and I were always working on our cars trying to make them faster. Well I got the bright idea to take the throttle plates off the carb and when I started it went straight to full throttle and thought I would blow the engine before being able to shut it off.
I remember, barely, when tuning up my car with my buddy (which we did pretty much daily)... somehow shocking myself with a screwdriver bridging the coil. I felt the jolt go up one arm, across my chest, and out the other. I went down like a sack of potatoes. I honestly thought I killed myself.

I put an electric fence around my garden. I tilled a nice 18" path around the outside edge of the garden to get a nice foot to dirt contact area for the animals. Then, of course, I had to test it. I touched it fast once. Nothing. So I touched it a little longer. Nothing. I knew it was a pulse unit, so I touched it long time. Felt little tine ticks in my finger tips. Tick. Tick. Tick.

Well, that's not impressive. So I kicked off one of my flip-flops and put my bare foot in the freshly tilled dirt and BZZZTT!! WOW!!

Felt that go right up my right hand, arm, across my torso and down my left leg through my bare foot!

I bet I jumped a foot off the ground. Then I looked around to see if any of the neighbors saw me.

HA Ha -when i was about 10 i was crossing a wood 4 board fence that kept the horses in.

I had forgotten my parents had installed an electric fence wire on the second boards top surface- because the horses were pawing sticking their feet through.

got almost half way through and wham- also the boards were so close together i was basically stuck, keeping me from getting past center.
It completely paralyzed me and I could only move between the pulses got hit 2 more times before getting back to the side where I started.

looked closely before crossing any fence after that.

We are in the process of remodeling our house. Just got the living room done and added a barn door to access what will later become the office. I decided to hang the surround speakers up so we could watch a movie in the new living room. I later go to open the barn door and knocked the speaker off the wall. Apparently I forgot where that barn door goes when it opens...

I have a divot out of my wedding ring to remind me to be careful around batteries and wrenches.

a few years ago i came home from work and a storm was moving in. i noticed a piece of metal roofing had come loose on the old tobacco barn and was flopping in the wind. i decided i needed to get it repaired before the storm hit and blew more roof off. got my extension ladder, hammer, and nails and went to make repairs. just as i finished a gust of wind hit and blew my ladder down. no one around but me. phone in the truck. too high to jump. storm coming in. i got aggravated and threw my hammer off. a few seconds later i realized if i had my hammer i could pull a piece of roofing loose and climb down the framework inside the barn!!
