I'm guessing 12 volt and the system is 6 volt?
Pretty sure. I just used a 12 volt I had out of my dodge diesel.

I was browsing for Cletrac parts our of curiosity....

Zimmerman Oliver Cletrac Tractor Parts - Cletrac Crawler Tractors

All kinds of stuff out there...

Thanks. I talked to Zimmerman today, he suggested buying a Zenith carburetor from him as the Tillotson I have is obsolete. Can't get parts for it. They can rebuild the water pump for pretty cheap. I'm gonna try that compression test tonight.

I got the font blade off, and the lift arms. I had to dig around all that for a couple hours. LOL

I enjoyed reading about the Oliver and am looking forward to following this project.

If the Tillotson is pot metal with brass jets it might be able to be saved?

Soaking and hand cleaning with tip cleaners and compressed air???

On the other hand... if a new carb is reasonable it is an easy choice.

Before you spend you could always do a quick and dirty test with a whiff of starting fluid to see it runs?

I've used propane for small engines to...

Would have been advantageous to have changed the oil before some of it may have been pumped into the gallery seeing how long it had sat...

Throw a set of points in it and a new/used set of sp wires...

Can't wait to see a video of that thing moving on it's own...!

When I drain fluids and no water comes out that is a very good sign.

Cool machine and project. Looking forward to seeing more.

I don't see much for under carriage parts.

I don't know squat about tracked machines, but I do read a lot about the undercarriage and I've read a lot about the old Oliver and Cletrac machines, and yes, those undercarriage parts seem to be few and far between.

What a great project, I hope you get it running and don`t let it go as scrap. Im no expert, but I think if I was doing it, I would get everything as ready as I could to go, and then try to crank it over without plugs or ignition connected to make sure all was free of obstructions and get some oil around the old girl. If all seemed well then I recon I would put the plugs in, give her some fuel and see what happens. Good luck..

Is it the desire of the OP to prove that he can just get "it running" (the engine), or to get the machine in usable/reasonably dependable working condition?
BIG DIFFERENCE!
