I guess I missed the part where your CC company had credited you the difference. I thought you had only received the credit from seller and were waiting on the CC company to issue a credit on the shipping charges. I'm glad it's working out for you and you're not getting screwed over the sellers bad practices.

Yes I got a credit from the merchant. But wanst a full credit.

Part cost me $1750 + $188 to ship.

I returned part and merchant issues a credit of $1562.

So I disputed the $376 which is shipping to me, and back to them.

Cc company issued me a TEMPORARY credit of $376 until the dispute is closed. Cc company reached out to merchant....to do what they do...I have no idea.

So I can only assume if cc company gets the $376 back from merchant, I won't here another word.

If merchant refuses, and it becomes a "he said she said" thing....I expect the cc company to either decide to persue matter with merchant (which may require more info/statement etc from me), or eat the charges themselves....or take the temporary credit back off my card in attempt to make me eat charges (if they choose to side with merchant)

Right now it's just a waiting game as they (merchant) has two months to respond. Which I have no idea if they have done so already. The matter may already be closed for all I know.

But I'm not gonna keep hounding the cc company. I'll give it the two months plus a little, and then I'll contact them to see if it's resolved

LD1 - in the past year I have - for reasons unknown - dealt with three really snakey companies. NOTHING on the monetary order of your situation. However - in all three cases the cc company has sided with my position and refunded the money. Actually there is no refund - the cc company simply denies the charges and will not pay - the charges are deleted from my monthly bill.

The point I want to make is - in all three cases I have received an email from the cc company detailing the results which explains why the charges were denied and deleted from my monthly bill.

Perhaps, in your case, you will receive a similar email from your cc company explaining the final outcome.

"We paid for the return shipping because he said that the block was worn out but when we received it back- there was Nothing wrong with it except a little grease..."

AND.. theres a BIG difference in qualifications from someone who rebuilds engines for a living & someone who dismantles junk for a living..{ AH, that'll work, ship it.}
That response has gotta sting{just alittle}
It might be childish but..to bad u cant post pictures of the block they sent ON THEIR WEBSITE.. & really, how many people are going to actually see it..

The truth is - its very unfortunate that there are companies run by people who feel that this way is "good business". I have been surprised that in one way or another there are so many that DO function this way.

You seen the pictures I posted in this thread.... AND the fact that its the WRONG shortblock......what do you thing? Think there was "nothing wrong except a little grease"

Yes they paid for return shipping upfront.

As I said, I paid $1750 + $188 to get the block to me. So $1938 charged to my card.

When I called and told them it was 1. The wrong block 2. Worn out 3. not something I could rebuild and NOT what I was told I was getting....

I was told "no problem, I told you we guarenteed it, let me know when you are ready and I'll sent a truck to pick it up and we will refund your money"

So yea, they sent a truck (paid for by them).

But when it came to refund time...I was NOT credited $1938. I was credited $376 less than that. $188 shipping x2....

So while they paid for return shipping upfront.....they didnt actually pay for it as they deducted it from my refund

Sounds like they are ready to re- sell that (non) worn block


Which IS out of Kubota's published specs

Because

If someone buys the block, and hones the bores to remove the vertical scoring that is shone in the pictures, to achieve a non scored cylinder wall, it will push the cylinder walls past acceptable bore size.

The block will then require boring to meet Kubota's cylinder wear specs and also new required matching oversize pistons.

Oh, but they said they sent it their Kubota engine inspector. "We sent it out to a certified Kubota mechanic and all of the tests and specs came back perfect."

It sure makes you feel sorry for the next person looking for that engine. Whoever they have posting the response is REAL good at not telling the truth!

Agreed.

The block is still usable. And still rebuildable.

Mine was not due to spun balance shaft bearing.

The issue is their price. No one in their right mind would pay $1750 for a block....then have to turn around and sink another $1500+ above and beyond for machining and the added expense of pistons.

$1750 for a block that had cylinder walls a clean as mine....and actually for the right application....yup. worth every penny of $1750.

I don't know anyone or any shop that would just throw new rings at that block and call it good. And if they did, wouldn't be a shop I'd associate with.

Someone down the line...needing a non-turbo v2403 block is gonna get hosed if they get that one
