In regards to the warranty service. This applies to the extended warranty. Would only require using original dealer if they sold you a warranty that only they support. If it's extended manufacture warranty service must be provided at a factory authorized warranty repair shop.

There may have been some miscommunication and/or understanding.

Don't know what the fuss is about;I have purchased maybe 40 new vehicles and never had a thought about taking them anywhere else for service than where purchased.Under warranty anyway,why would you take it anywhere else?
Nice truck by the way;the only thing I don't like about the Ram's is the transmission selector(dial).

Finally had a chance to look at the mountain of paperwork I brought home. I purchased as extended manufacturer warrantee.

Thanks for the link Zero Turn Man. It sure helps when you type in the correct VIN. The list went on for eight pages. I downloaded it because I could see items not listed on the window sticker.

One thing - -Listed GVW - 8565 pounds. Declared weight for vehicle licensing - 12,000 pounds. I'll have to ask about this.

NYbirdman - "transmission selector" ? Do you mean a knob for 2WD, 4WD high, 4WD low?? Yeah - I sure like the old lever in my Jeep TJ. Just like an emergency brake lever.

My F-150 has the twinky knob also.

So being manufacturer warranty it's required to use an authorized shop. Not necessarily the shop you bought it from.

A lot of the Rams have a dial on the dash, to shift the tranny into gear, forward or reverse.

I don't like it either, as my brother has a new Ram that has it.

I'll have to ask the dealer how to locate an approved/authorized repair facility. I plan on doing a lot of trips with this unit.

One other item - 36 gallon gas tank. Bet that's not because they expect a longer range. That 410 Hp Hemi is probably one thirsty beast. Even with MDS.

I did the same thing. I just got a 2019 Ford F250 Lariat.
I searched for 6 moths for a good used, but everything on the planet had way, way over 100K miles on it.
I gave in and went for a new one. No one was dealing on these trucks so I started looking all over the USA. I found dealers offering 10K off new 2019 trucks so I took those numbers to my local stealers and they changed their tune from $1,000 off to $7,500 off.
They pushed the warranty I declined at $3,500. Then at the signing they said they could do $2,000 for the warranty. I said I'll do $1,200 for a 60K 5 year bumper to bumper premium take it or leave it. They came back at $1,250.00 so I bought the warranty.
I figure with all these computers and electrical anything that needed fixing will run over $1,200 the first time I need it.
All in all this is one of the finest vehicles I have ever driven and has options I'm still learning about a week later.

I went through two LEMON law buy backs from two different manufacturers. The first one took 2 lawyers and three years but I got to drive their vehicle for free for 3 years and put 60K mils on it before they gave me a new one. They tried to out wait or irritate me to give up, I never did. Plus it cost them 60K in legal fees and I got a new vehicle replacement.
The second one I lemon law'd in it a week. Took it in three time for the same problem then I enacted Lemon law on my own no lawyers. The manufacturer called and begged me for one more chance that I didn't have to agree to, but I said this is it. You get one more try after that give me a replacement.

Two weeks later they called and said order a new one. They have me $22K (MSRP) for the vehicle they bought back, and I only purchased it for $14,000K, so I made money on the Lemon Law. I went in the next day and ordered a new replacement the way I wanted.

That was some of my decision on a new vehicle. 1) I get the warranty. 2) I get Lemon law protection 3) I get a fresh vehicle with zero history on it from a previous owner 4) I'm not buying someone else's problems if their are some. All in all you pay the price on a new on, but you also get peace of mine. Buying used is always a dice roll and you can end up with a 4,000 pound paper weight of the bargain of the century?
I'm getting too old to gamble these days.

I saw a RAM recently and fell in love. Did some research and starting price in Oz is about $120,000
My mouth dropped.
Not that I need one, I just wanted one.
Common sense prevailed and I have 'got over it'. :)
I would have been paying cash though.

We had a similar problem with our 4WD, dealer said it had to go back to them, $480 for a basic service and a 'free' wash, local mechanic (who probably is a better mechanic) $$140 but no wash.
Was a hard decision....
Local is one of those rare breed honest mechanic, repaired wifes previous car and it started making a knocking noise, took it back and he sheepishly admitted he put a piece in back to front, no charge, I'll wager the dealer would have found a way to charge me.
