In regards to the warranty service. This applies to the extended warranty. Would only require using original dealer if they sold you a warranty that only they support. If it's extended manufacture warranty service must be provided at a factory authorized warranty repair shop.

There may have been some miscommunication and/or understanding.

Don't know what the fuss is about;I have purchased maybe 40 new vehicles and never had a thought about taking them anywhere else for service than where purchased.Under warranty anyway, why would you take it anywhere else?
Nice truck by the way;the only thing I don't like about the Ram's is the transmission selector(dial).

Finally had a chance to look at the mountain of paperwork I brought home. I purchased as extended manufacturer warrantee.

Thanks for the link Zero Turn Man. It sure helps when you type in the correct VIN. The list went on for eight pages. I downloaded it because I could see items not listed on the window sticker.

One thing - -Listed GVW - 8565 pounds. Declared weight for vehicle licensing - 12,000 pounds. I'll have to ask about this.

NYbirdman - "transmission selector" ? Do you mean a knob for 2WD, 4WD high, 4WD low?? Yeah - I sure like the old lever in my Jeep TJ. Just like an emergency brake lever.

My F-150 has the twinky knob also.

So being manufacturer warranty it's required to use an authorized shop. Not necessarily the shop you bought it from.

A lot of the Rams have a dial on the dash, to shift the tranny into gear, forward or reverse.

I don't like it either, as my brother has a new Ram that has it.

I'll have to ask the dealer how to locate an approved/authorized repair facility. I plan on doing a lot of trips with this unit.

One other item - 36 gallon gas tank. Bet that's not because they expect a longer range. That 410 Hp Hemi is probably one thirsty beast. Even with MDS.

I did the same thing. I just got a 2019 Ford F250 Lariat.
I searched for 6 moths for a good used, but everything on the planet had way, way over 100K miles on it.
I gave in and went for a new one. No one was dealing on these trucks so I started looking all over the USA. I found dealers offering 10K off new 2019 trucks so I took those numbers to my local stealers and they changed their tune from $1,000 off to $7,500 off.
They pushed the warranty I declined at $3,500. Then at the signing they said they could do $2,000 for the warranty. I said I'll do $1,200 for a 60K 5 year bumper to bumper premium take it or leave it. They came back at $1,250.00 so I bought the warranty.
I figure with all these computers and electrical anything that needed fixing will run over $1,200 the first time I need it.
All in all this is one of the finest vehicles I have ever driven and has options I'm still learning about a week later.

I went through two LEMON law buy backs from two different manufacturers. The first one took 2 lawyers and three years but I got to drive their vehicle for free for 3 years and put 60K mils on it before they gave me a new one. They tried to out wait or irritate me to give up, I never did. Plus it cost them 60K in legal fees and I got a new vehicle replacement.
The second one I lemon law'd in it a week. Took it in three time for the same problem then I enacted Lemon law on my own no lawyers. The manufacturer called and begged me for one more chance that I didn't have to agree to, but I said this is it. You get one more try after that give me a replacement.

Two weeks later they called and said order a new one. They have me $22K (MSRP) for the vehicle they bought back, and I only purchased it for $14,000K, so I made money on the Lemon Law. I went in the next day and ordered a new replacement the way I wanted.

That was some of my decision on a new vehicle. 1) I get the warranty. 2) I get Lemon law protection 3) I get a fresh vehicle with zero history on it from a previous owner 4) I'm not buying someone else's problems if their are some. All in all you pay the price on a new on, but you also get peace of mine. Buying used is always a dice roll and you can end up with a 4,000 pound paper weight of the bargain of the century?
I'm getting too old to gamble these days.

Congrats to several of you on your purchase of the most expensive perfume available - Eau de toilette ala new truck. Nothing like it.

I saw a RAM recently and fell in love. Did some research and starting price in Oz is about $120,000
My mouth dropped.
Not that I need one, I just wanted one.
Common sense prevailed and I have 'got over it'. :)
I would have been paying cash though.

We had a similar problem with our 4WD, dealer said it had to go back to them, $480 for a basic service and a 'free' wash, local mechanic (who probably is a better mechanic) $$140 but no wash.
Was a hard decision....
Local is one of those rare breed honest mechanic, repaired wifes previous car and it started making a knocking noise, took it back and he sheepishly admitted he put a piece in back to front, no charge, I'll wager the dealer would have found a way to charge me.
