FUEL FILTER PURGE REMINDER

Its that time of year again. Sure enough I'm seeing lots of frozen fuel filters. This is an FYI reminder for you owners to purge the H2O from your filters especially tier 4 owners. Tier 4 engines will run poorly ,code and derate even with the hot fuel recirculation. Even with the WIF sensor the low percentage of water in the fuel will freeze and cause issues before it warns you. Also is anyone out there using the funnels that separate the water? curious how they are working. :thumbsup:

I run diesel through Mr. Funnel as soon as I bring it home. Next is a dose of Biobor JF. Filter it again before its dumped in to the tractor. Try to keep the tank full. Once a month I bleed a little from the large Bosch filter. So far so good.

My fuel tank never goes below 1/2. The tractor knows the routine quite well. I plow the snow from the neighbours and then home to plow my place and the last thing I do before putting her to bed I fuel.

Would have been great advise 60 days ago. My diesel tractors got a fresh fuel filter every year between Halloween and Thanksgiving when I started using treated fuel. Zero ice or gelling problems.
