I leave the post hole digger in the shed now. Too heavy and awkward for me to swap it onto the tractor. Not so 10 years ago. The flailmower lives on the Kioti now. (Im 70)
Maybe I need another tractor?

About every 10 years I have to lift 80 pound bags of sakrete. It's the only thing that seems like I'm getting more for my money.

This applies to getting older and curious if others ever experienced this which is fatty tumors from injuries years ago.
Over the years I've had so many bicycle, motorcycle, car, etc. accidents. One that concerns me is on my shoulder, about size of a baseball. I'm 6ft/210#. A few years back I went to orthopedic center, and two other doctors said it's just a fatty cyst. They did strength test, etc. It bothers me some and guess I should have it removed.
Anyone with this experience?

Great stories! I guess I had average fitness in my younger days playing rugby and a bit of jogging. Then it was a few walks in the week. In 2008 I got a Craftsman LT2000 and cut grass sitting down so did even less walking. I was 61 then and slowing down presumably following the prescribed path to old age. Six months ago, at age 71, I decided I had had enough of old age and joined a local Parkrun. I walked the 5k (3 miles) in 55 minutes and, despite being breathless, enjoyed it very much. I now attend the Parkrun every Saturday morning and jog (yes, jogging at 72!) the route in 41 minutes. Most beat me on time but they are 30+ years younger! My fitness level has improved dramatically and I may just start cutting grass with a walk behind mower this summer! :number1:

Good for you!

I just passed my CDL medical which I have to do yearly in order to keep the "S" endorsement. I doubt if I will ever drive a semi again. The school bus? Only if someone holds a gun against my head, lol! I sold my climbing gear after I cut down three big trees that were to close to the house we bought in 2017. Being up high does not bother me mentally, the knees are another story at age 68. I can still do pretty much anything I need to but I do have to pause now and then when I am swinging a pick or pushing the wheelbarrow around especially with all of the mud we have had. There are days that I would rather not have to tend to the six horses that I still have but then they give me something (a lot) to do. Like I told the ER doctor when I had blood clots pass through my heart into my lungs, I still have things to do.

I walk about 6.5 miles per day at my job. In nicer weather, my wife and I walk an additional 2-3 miles every evening after dinner. We walk a little faster than 3mph, at about 50-55 minutes per 3 miles. On weekends we like to take 2-3 hour walks, so that's about 6-9 miles. Feels good!

I can't run due to foot issues, but am happy with walking at a brisk pace.

As for a walk-behind mower.... my father in law has a Toro with the personal pace feature. It's really impressive. You just walk. The mower drives. You walk faster, the mower goes faster. You slow down, it slows down. But you really don't push it all that much at all. Easier than a shopping cart. I highly recommend you try that Toro feature if you can.

I use that model for my lawn. It works well.

Up until the end of 2017, my father in law mowed his 1/3 acre lot every two days with that Toro. About 3 times per week. He was 89 when the Dr. told him to stop due to his sciatic nerve. Ever since then, his mental capacity and physical strength has gone down the tubes. Sad to watch. :(
