I have a 2010 era dk45 and the heater will blow me out of the cab. Very hot in there in winter. I have 4 cabin air filters on the underside of cab top on the outside. Both heater and air work great.
Why would you need a new heater for a squirrel cage.
Most squirrel cage simple remove from the blower motor shaft with a pinch screw.
Just take the original to the local auto parts and see if they match it up.

Do I have to take the heater off the tractor to remove the squirrel cage? I've got most of the topside screws removed and am trying to figure out why it isn't coming apart. I'm one of those type of guys who usually destroys something trying to "repair" it. So I'd like some advice before I REALLY screw it up. It's too cold to chance making this fatal error.
Can't do it. The dealer is 40 miles away and the next big storm is 48 hours away. I guess I will pull out my heat gun and warm everything up before I start prodding those plastic parts.I would suggest going to your Kioti dealer and talk to a mechanic about it or a local mechanic. .
The top opens and is hinged at the rear. I opened up mine to replace the zenon loghts with leds a few years ago. Wasnt too hard. But i would be carefull doing it if its freezing. Id be afraid of cracking frozen fiberglass shell of roof.View attachment 590719 View attachment 590720 View attachment 590717 View attachment 590718
Who knows? I figured maybe it got too hot and somehow bent the cages. So (naturally) I assumed if I put the squirrel cage in boiling water (what are the chances that the "attic" got warmer than 212F?), but the boiling water didn't soften it up at all, so I have no clue- hopefully the cages I ordered from O'Riley's works; otherwise I will use the "good one" for the one blowing on the glass and the other one will be "blowing" on me.....Holy cow... what would cause that
