I didn't read anywhere about a shutdown at all..

I would let them do it, I would also email corporate to let them know and they will follow this along with the dealership, when the manufacture contacts the dealer to follow up on the issue the dealership tends to be more honest and it quickly gets looked at. Keep ALL paperwork from corporate and the dealer on this issue , if something goes wrong a year down the road you will have what you need if it happens.

If it lost power, I would think it did so because there is a safe guard of some sort to tell it to do so, IDK. If it lost power due to overheating, it very well could have damaged something internally IMO..

This could be the beginnings of a nightmare tractor or it could be a non issue, cover you're bases..

Good luck..

Hold on there fellas, it never shut down. Sorry if I gave that impression, but I didn't think I said anything to indicate that it shut down. No, it just lost power. Driving across a flat road it would not drive in 4th gear high range like it had before. I had to downshift to 3rd and even then the rpm's wouldn't get much above 2k.
About 20 minutes ago I went into my dealer's service manager's office and talked with him about getting the compression tested. He agreed to it, and since I negotiated travel expenses for warranty work into the purchase, it will be entirely on their dime. Only thing I don't like is he wants to bring the tractor there to do it. I'd rather be there to see the reading myself, or at least have an independent 3rd party do it. That might void the warranty though?

Sorry, I did not re-read anything before posting. My mistake. I hope everything works out good for you.

Tough spot to be in, document everything that is said or done.. you will likely need it at some point..

Since I live in a colder area now, I was thinking about getting a block heater. After reading all this I think I'll do without.

It is easier on the machine to heat the block a bit first prior to cranking it over, but honestly this thing has fired right up every time without a hitch so far down to 10 below and I haven't plugged it in yet. I dont really know if a person really needs one.

I have also started mine down to about -10 without a problem. Because I'm in a new house the tractor sits outside. I hope to get a barn/shed built this summer and that'll make it a little warmer next winter.

The barn in my avatar was built just 3 years ago but at my old place. Sure wish I could have loaded it up and brought it with me.:)

That's next on my to-do list. I almost built the shop instead of buying the tractor. I had built a nice shop at my last house, but then we sold that and upgraded to where we are now. I'm going to get at least some kind of lean to built this summer for the tractor.

Dealer put like a heat blanket under my entire oil pan . He said there’s no chances of complication with this method. Works well

They make a circulating water heater that ties into the heater water lines. They do a good job, I have never been a fan of the lower radiator hose heaters.
