I do not know if I would want it.....
Low miles but think most of the rubber parts are starting to get crispy, and probably some of the plastic as well.

Also that is an average of 2500 miles per year. If there were many years where it sat and did not move, that is harder on a vehicle than driving it.

Pretty truck but......

One of the big things about the Tundra is the crappy gas mileage. The same comptroller also said that if our fleet mileage went up just 1 MPG it would save the company $50,000... and that's just for the light trucks.

It wasn't any better with the first generation Tundra's, either. I've got an '05 (had it since June '06) with the 4.7 that only averages about 15mpg.

That said, if I was going to replace it and had the money to do what I wanted, I'd get a newer Tundra with the 5.7. A lot of my co-workers drive them and I haven't heard them complain about anything other than the mpg.

Two Toyota Tundra’s with the 4.7 V8 have hit a million miles without any major work being done to the motors. One had the transmission rebuilt at 800k miles. Toyota traded the first million mile Tundra for a brand new one to study it and found that the original motor made just as much power as when it was new and the truck could have gone a lot longer. Both trucks were built at Toyota’s plant in Texas.

Pretty good for a gas truck.

If you are going to spend 70 K on a truck, heck many guys here are touching a hundred grand, it would kind of be nice to like the appearance of the thing. I have no plans to get rid of my hardly used 08 Duramax, partly because there is nothing that excites me out there appearance wise.

You're right, my 04 4wd, 6 cylinder, 5-speed manual averaged 15... 14 in Winter and 16 in Summer. Two years ago I gave it to my son with 90,000 miles on it and it still drove like new not squeak and still with the original brake pads. I did nothing to that truck other than change the fluids regularly myself. Ridgeline is a better truck for how I use it and gets 20-21 mpg in the same type driving. I do miss the manual transmission sometimes though.

I still maintain if one wants a full size truck and they plan on keeping it for 100,000+ miles a Tundra might make sense because the extra gasoline it uses will likely be offset by not having repairs along with good resale. Personally I wouldn't even consider buying a used truck with over 100,000 miles that had a turbo gasoline engine.

That's the key, I have no intentions of spending that kind of money on a truck. I can buy a new 3/4 ton 4x4 for around 40k which would be all that I ever need, if I ever decided to buy new.

70-100K on a pickup truck is nuts.. Junk in 7-10 years, that's a poor financial decision unless you have tons of money or you are making money with the truck..

I know people who have $900 a month pickup payments that make 45K a year..

A friend was approached by his grandson, probably not even 20, who was asking that he co-sign for a hundred grand (give or take) loan for a new truck since he apparently got a job providing transporation services for a company.
