Was camping july 4th weekend. Felt funny when i was walking on the 6th. Next day went home, was limping. In ER 2 days later, could barely walk. 2 days later couldnt walk. Diagnosed with giallian barre syndrome. My immune system attacked my nerve system, damaging the nerves.

Had to undergo 2 rounds of ivig treatments ($$$$$$$) in hospital. Been in rehab since. Good news is it's recoverable, just takes a long time. My legs had completely shut down. Fortunately caught before my upper body shut down.

Im starting to regain some use of legs. PT and OT is keeping muscles active. Was able to stand for about a minute on thursday, using a standing table and partially using uppet body.

Amazing how fast it all happened.

My son in law came today and I basicly stood around and watched him work. He looked thru the plans when he got to my house and asked some questions. We got to the homesite and he asked some more questions, pointed out some things that I did "diffferent". We chalked the lines, and he started rolling. It was freaking fast. He also didn't use my miter saw, but cut all the studs by hand with the skill saw.

That is frightening. Keep fighting hard for recovery.

Eddie Walker, it was amazing to see them go up. I feel like my son in law but me to school for two days. It will pay huge dividends in the rest of the house. If I can, I am going to get him back out there. But I am pushing forward none the less. I think I picked up enough tips watching and listening to him, to handle it. Slower, obviously, but steady. I am also meeting with my architect tomorrow to cover some questions that came up in the process.

The big question for me, "What causes it " ?

I am going to document the good and the bad on my Youtube channel.
Inexperienced man tries to frame house. It goes bad. - YouTube

I watched it without sound, so I'm sure I missed quite a bit.

The cracks in the concrete are from too much water. Very common and not a big deal, it's what the rebar is there for.

Your wife looks bored. :)

why did you do your temporary diagonal bracing that way? Just attach a stud from the bottom corner up as high as it will go, and screw into each stud with a single screw.

Are you going to attach your walls to the concrete? Most interior walls don't need it, but I think it makes a difference at the doors. I drill a half inch hole through the bottom plate, then drill a half inch hole into the slab, and pound in an anchor and tighten. It just takes a couple minutes and the results are significant. Be sure to get the galvanized wedge anchors. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Red-Head-10-Pack-5-1-2-in-x-1-2-in-Wedge-Anchors/1000775748

Thanks for the link. I am mounting the walls to the floor. I have some nails I will use as well as 5/8 bolts that are stipulated by my architect.
I touch ed on that as well as my shortcomings at framing. My son in law was amazing and after spending a couple days with him, I feel confident that I can handle the rest of it. If I can get him back out there I wont turn that down as well.
